Hoping for better reliability.

This is my third R3000 in the last two years. The first two died on me! Epson replaced the first one, under warranty, with a rebuilt R3000, but did not do so when the rebuilt one died, because the warranty on the first printer had expired.
Obviously, I have been very disappointed with the R3000's reliability & am hoping for better dependability with this one, because it produces beautiful prints. I am especially pleased with how it renders B&W images, using Advanced B&W. Thus I highly recommend the R3000 based on the quality of the images accompanied with reservations based on my experience with reliability.

R3000 and icc profiles

I love the printer but am not happy in the least that Epson doesn't provide icc profiles for this printer and Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. When that's corrected I'll give 5 stars happily!

I admit I was not thrilled with my Epson experience until this unit. I was going to upgrade to the R2000 (I have one at my job) but decided to try the R3000. I LOVE it. It prints beautiful images -- the colors are rich and the black and white is beautiful. I can't recommend this enough. The user interface is simple and the ink produces the perfect color without a lot of test printing.

Fine printer

Fine colors and correct matches out of the box. It's nice when a company writes new drivers for existing printers when new operating systems hit the market; not leaving their customers with a lightly aged printer with only generic universal drivers available. Most of the other manufacturers seem to always do just that. Great borderless prints right to the edge.

I've only had my R3000 hooked up less than 24 hours but I LOVE IT. Vast improvement over my 2200. Fast, accurate, wireless, and large inks make this a winner!!

Upgrading from the R2880 (3 years old) mainly because of the ink cartridges are more than double the capacity and will get better productivity when going to intense photo's and graphics. The set up was a breeze and it's very quite -so just follow the instructions.
I do cd's in the way of recording my own music and designing my oy own graphics for the Jewel Case and the CD itself...
The 2880 finally gave up with some problems that the support tech's worked extremely hard to try and fix...like 3 hours, so guys, the Epson support is in California for this "wide format" and I was impressed in their dilligence. Did not leave me hanging either, but it was either fix it and settle with the small ink cartridges or apply that $$$ to upgrade and get the longer lasting Ink cartridges...So far it's impressive !

I unpacked my Epson 3000 printer yesterday. It replaced my Epson 2880 wich I disliked. Setup was a snap with easy to follow instructions. I then used my Color monky to calabrate the printer. The test print matched the file color correctly.

I replaced my R1800 that I always enjoyed but ran out of ink to often. The R3000 has larger ink cartridges that time out about right. I keep my printer close so I haven't used wi fi yet. In going from photo black to matte it is best to plan ahead to save ink. I just received my Epson velvet fine art paper and printed out some of my B&W boxing shots and was amazed at the quality.
I was also looking at the 3880 but I think I've made the right decision for now. Load up on the 3 blacks if you do B&W because you'll find yourself printing a lot.
