a little disappointed

Overall this stove has great features and cooking capabilities BUT the door alignment is off and the back vent has uneven notches on the right and left. Our first stove had serious door and vent issues. A repairman could not align the doors properly and eventually we were sent a new stove. The back vent was better but still uneven and the doors were again out of alignment. We received a third stove and the doors were much better but not perfect but the back vent still had the same issue. We have decided to keep this stove and have a master repairman come to see if the doors can be aligned properly. GE has been wonderful as far as reponding to our case but I wonder about the wormanship that has gone into this fairly expensive stove . We bought 4 GE Profile appliances as we are remodeling our kitchen. We did take out the extended warrantees so time will tell if we made the right decision.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I let my husband talk me into this stove when we did our kitchen remodel. Regular knobs were fine with me. Our remodel was finished in March and now, today, May 5, the stove/oven totally shut down while simmering two meals. Really? We cut the power to see if the electronic board would reset, but we got an error code F790. I haven't even used the convection oven yet. The oven does look great and we get a lot of compliments on it and when it was working, it performed like I would expect. I had an old GE Profile Range that I would just wipe off with a wet dishcloth to clean, but this one is really a lot of work to keep clean. Even a minor splash of water will leave a mark. I ignored all the comments about it being hard to clean, feeling I had years of experience with a smooth top range and had it down to a science. Definitely not the same! I have to use the razor with almost every clean. And for those that mentioned the touchpad was sensitive - holy moly, they are right. Using the control lock is a must. Bottom line - I am totally disappointed that I have to have the stove serviced after only a few uses. I hope this isn't the start of a repeated pattern. My hubby's love affair with this stove is over.

Good oven, impossible to clean surface.

My biggest complaint is that its impossible to clean the surface. Large white stains over the heating elements are a major issue and impossible to clean. I would not recommend this oven just because of this one major issue.

I LOVE cooking and baking on this range!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE cooking and baking on my GE Profile range The two ovens are convenient when preparing multiple dishes that require different cooking temperatures. Every cake I have baked comes out perfectly! I thought my old range--which I had for 43 years!--was good, but wow! The new generation certainly has it beat! Another thing I have valued this summer of record-breaking heat is that the ovens are so well-insulated that they do not heat up my kitchen. The cooktop provides so many options and is very responsive to the controls. In addition to all this great utilitarian value, the GE Profile looks so good with my new cabinets and the GE Profile Microwave that is above it. The mosaic glass between the two makes for a spectacular kitchen that is ready for some serious food preparation! Thank you, GE, for all this new technology!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our range was for a remodel in our condo and has surpassed everythig that we had hoped for in a new range. Having never had an electric range before the change was very easy to do. We love the way it looks and the controls are easy to use. The double oven is great when we have small things to bake or just a pizza to do. Its easy clean up also with no nobs to remove when cleaning up spills. Love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this range a year and a half ago. Complained that it takes water 30+ minutes to boil. Service finally came out. Ordered new part and replaced it. Still having the same issue. Terrible range!!

Glass cooktop is horrible to clean!!

Have used this oven three times, and the glass cooktop looks AWFUL! I have followed the directions to a T -wiped it down, scrubbed and polished it with the polish that came with the oven. Still looks awful! It looks like there are water spots on the glass top, everywhere that grease or liquid splatterd. I can not get them to come off. My husband is so frustrated with it, he says we have spent more time cleaning and polishing the oven than we have cooking on it! I'm not sure if there is some flaw or if this is just how the cooktop goes. Have a call into GE to find out.
Other than that, the oven itself is beautiful, so far no problems cooking with either the large or small oven. The only other downside is the control panel in the front. Thank goodness it comes with athe control lock feature or we'd be turning the oven off and on constantly! My concern is that, with all the inadvertant button pusing will wear out the panel much faster than if it was on the back (the slightest lean, even with a rag, makes the buttons beep).
I'm not sure how to rate this oven yet or if I recommend it, the cleaning issue is a major problem but everything else works fine. Have had it for a week so so I will update the review as time goes on.
