[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two months ago our puppy was diagnosed with giardiasis. We were advised, among other things, to sanitize the floors. Upon contacting Bissell for a recommendation, a representative, Neil, promptly advised my husband to purchase this model. I was 100% sure that I would be using this steamer just once, for sanitizing purposes, and then return to my favourite mop. Well, was I in for a surprise! This steamer is so easy to use and so light! It leaves the floors squeaky clean and almost dry; the water bin is just the perfect size, and the pads are washable; the vacuum is more powerful than I expected. Recently, our furry troublemaker has discovered that digging in the backyard after the rain and leaving muddy paw prints in the house can be fun. I no longer panic: cleaning the floors has become quick and painless. I wish we had bought it sooner!

Chemical Free one step cleaning

I am a owner of the Symphony™ All in One Vacuum and Steam Mop as well as a Bissell lift off steam cleaner. I really like both of these cleaners. The lift off covers areas that can not be done with the floor cleaner. I have done furniture, dog crates, cupboards and most of all the bathroom. But did not get it out to do floors very often. I did not prefer the extra steps to get ready or the (to me) extreme effort I had to use to push the cleaner back and forth. To much drag. It just killed my back. Now with my new Symphony being so easy I can do the floors on a daily bases. Just plug and pull the lever. No sweeping or even spot cleaning to get ready. The vacuum works nicely picking up the dog hair as well as all the fine dirt that is track in.It even picks up sand that my other cleaner does not. ONE STEP CLEANING. No broom, No mop and No pail. Best of all no chemical detergent needed. Steam kills bacteria. The vacuum also works on my rugs. I just remove the hard floor cleaning head and cover, as directed and give my rugs a fast once over. This is great for when people are coming over to visit my pups. Fast and easy. One cleaner does the job. A very important feature for me is ease of use and the Symphony provides just that. Keeping floors clean with young puppies running around is not easy. As a "in home" breeder of Boston Terriers I need to maintain a environment that is safe for new born pups and their parents. When using chemicals to clean it can be very risky for mothers in whelp as well as newborns to be exposed to chemicals. Using steam removes the fear of that exposure as most bacteria are killed by steam. Also a clean house does not need to have fragrant candles and sprays in used. I hate cover ups :o) Clean is better and with young pups it was not always as easy as it is now with my new Symphony I do have a problem with my back and found both cleaners were very difficult for me to push around. The main reason I be leave I was not using the lift off on the floors. The new vacuum steamer came with two different floor pads. One with strips for tough jobs and a solid white cover for wood or less dirty floors. After using the white cover (non scrubbing) I was able to move the cleaner easier on the floor. I personally can push lightly over a spot several times to remove a spot easier then trying to push with the stripped scrubber cover just one time. So if you are having trouble pushing the cleaner please try using the solid white pad instead of the scrubbing cover. I hope in the future Bissell with come up with a cover that will glide over the floors. Also by using distilled water I have had no problem with blockage of steam vents. Distilled water is so much safer and cheaper then harsh chemicals. Judy

Stopped working 2 months after warrentee

liked it, although it always left streaks on the tiles. Stopped working 2 months after the warrentee was up and when I messaged Bissell, they offered me 20% off a new one. I would rather pay full price for a machine that lasts longer than 2 years. I can't stand the disposable culture that has happened with most companies. I will not buy any Bissell products again for this reason.

Returning - poor engineering

Come on! There has to be a company out there that can deliver a vac-steam mop that can handle both tasks expertly. I had high hopes when I purchased this, despite some of the reviews, but it's extremely loud, the suction sucks and dispersing steam from a single outlet doesn't cut it and my floors were pretty clean to begin with! Engage working women when designing these products and please develop a tool that we can appreciate.
