I have 5 family members and pets in my home which requires a lot of cleaning. I bought this mop because of the vacuum and mopping feature and I am very pleased with the product. It was very easy to use once I read through the manual for proper use. It saves me so much time being able to vacuum and mop at the same time and it is very good at getting off tough stuck on messes. My kids even like using the mop. Great product!!!!

I love my bissell. It does a great job. The downfall is the canister lever does not click and I have to watch it as it will slide to open and fall off the machine causing a spill of all it has collected.

It Has Issues But It Gets the Job Done

The idea of having a vacuum cleaner and steam mop in one is appealing. This is why I bought a Bissell Symphony. PROS: 1. Lightweight. 2. Mop pads are reusable. 3. Steam takes less than 1 minute to start working when unit is first turned on. 4. Chemical-free. 5. Steam mop feature does a good job of cleaning. 6. Vacuum is better than my previous lightweight vacuum cleaner. 7. Easy to assemble. 8. Adjustable height. CONS: 1. Difficult to move forward especially once the mop pad gets wet. (Increased drag.) 2. The mop stretches more when wet and catches on the back wheels. 3. The price. This is my first steam mop so when I first used the Symphony I was using it like a regular vacuum cleaner. I realized soon enough that I needed to use the unit slowly. Towards the end, I had to use it backwards more since my wrist, elbow, and shoulder were getting tired (it's hard to push it forward especially on hardwood floors once the mop gets saturated). I needed to put more force into using the unit (more force on hardwood floor vs vinyl floor - don't know why). It took me about 35 minutes to clean about 1300 sq ft of hardwood and vinyl floors. I didn't really notice a significant decrease in my cleaning time since I have to move the unit slowly to keep my right upper limb from getting tired. I only had to fill the water tank twice to steam clean. (In the past, I would use my lightweight vacuum cleaner then mop with water and vinegar solution.) It leaves streaks on our hardwood floor but because our floor is light colored, they're not really noticeable. I only give it 3 starts since I think the difficulty in maneuvering the unit once the pad gets wet is a major issue for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have old varnished wood floors, vinyl tile and 70-year-old linoleum. I just used low-steam and vacuum on all of them and my floors look great! Saved a lot of time from going over everything with a broom and dustpan and then again with a mop. The vacuum has great suction. It got dirt, bugs, dog hair, little Legos, and a marble! I love that I can shake out my floor rugs and set them aside and then vacuum the dirt up and mop underneath at the same time. I used distilled water in it. That detail is in the back of the User Guide and I highly recommend following that. Before this I had another brand steam mop and after a few years the steam lines completely clogged with calcium buildup. I plan to keep this Symphony Pet for many years! It is really wonderful! Some notes: It took a few tries to get the handle in securely - I thought it was in but then it slid right back out when I went to use it. It's in there now though so not sure what I didn't do the first time. The Bissell plate on the top of the body had fallen off during shipping. I found it in the box and restuck it on. I want to register it for the warranty but there isn't a Model/serial label on it anywhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how this product steams the floor. It's a great comfort to know my floors are clean for our little crawler. I have five children under 10 and we create a lot of messes. This product helps us clean the floors quickly. I have to remember to be patient for the water to heat up. It takes about 3 minutes. I can suck up anything small enough for the vacuum. Cheerios are about the largest item it will vacuum. The vacuum feature is powerful and loud. I still need to scrape up very hard stuck on messes. Overall this is a great time saver and my floors look so nice that I am cleaning them more often. It is so satisfying.
