[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for hard floors. We've had one for 2 or 3 years, bought this as a house warming gift for our daughter and son in law. The floor steamer works great to clean hard floors. You need to vacuum with a real vacuum first, the vacuum on the Symphony will pick up something you missed, but you can't vacuum floors thoroughly with it..
I would recommend this to a friend!

poorly designed trigger

This was a good product before it broke. I throw nothing away that I think I can fix so I opened up the handle. What I found was a broken plastic lever. It works by grabbing the handle which activates a lever that pushes against another lever that makes contact with a micro switch inside of the handle. If grasped to hard the lever that makes contact with the micro switch breaks. I fixed mine with some good glue and plastic epoxy. It's an easy design Bissell should make.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had this machine for about a month now and I simply love this machine! I was skeptic, as I used to have the Shark Wet Vac and the steamer on that stopped working 3 times (went through 3 of them). I kept it for the vac part on my hard floors. This machine - it's AMAZING!! Super easy to use and it does a great job. I remove the steam attachment when I vacuum and I have not done the vac and steam simultaneously and I probably won't. I don't mind doing the dust cloth before I steam. I recently spilled a good portion of powder Ovaltine on the kitchen floor and this machine picked it all up - no trace left. The steam portion is SUPER easy to use. No pumping of the handle. You squeeze and go. It's that simple. It does a fantastic job on my hardwood floors and my kitchen floor. I actually think it's just as quick as using the Swifter Wet Jet to clean the hard floors - the bonus is NO chemicals used! You will NOT be disappointed.

I think I'm in love. We have used this once every week and each time we use it, we love it more and more! The power cord is long, it lets me vacuum down the stairs without having to unplug (which is great because having to plug/unplug is cumbersome). It does a great job at picking up all over the dog hair (I have an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix, and it's hair tumbleweeds all the time). The steamer does a wonderful job on the hardwood floors as well. I'm really impressed with how good this product works and I would definitely recommend it to those who have hairy dogs and can use a quick pass to maintain the house looking clean each week. Also, it does a great job on tile as well. My boyfriend loves using the Symphony as well (he was excited when we got the box in the mail!) I haven't tried the Pet discs or the Scents for the water yet, looking forward to making that purchase in the future. Thanks Bissell!

Not What I Expected

Have a large area of tile floor in the kitchen and throughout the house. Was using the Shark Vac N Steam for many years as a very happy customer until it broke. Could not find a replacement so I went with what I thought would be the next best Vac N Steam. . .not really. Pro: Low mop head gets under the cabinets for easier cleaning. Con's: Must hold the trigger button on the handle the entire time. Does not clean in one pass. Need to go over an area several times to get the heavy dirt or stuck on spots gone. Seems the steam is not powerful enough or the pad does not provide a good scrubbing action. Never had that issue with the Shark. One Pass . .lots of steam. Clean floor.

Thank you for your review. This always helps with product development. Make sure you have the steam selector on the highest setting to promote the most steam to come out. If it's on low steam this could be why you have to go over the floor a second time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I discovered the Bissell Symphony All-In-One Vacuum and Steamer when I started cleaning a friends business. Since then I have started a cleaning business and do multiple businesses and homes. I cannot imagine cleaning with out my Bissell Symphony. I am on my 3rd one. I dropped and broke the first one, my mistake and the second one I bought refurbished and it only lasted 3 months, will not do that again!!! If I had not damaged the original one I had I would still be using it. I really love how well it cleans and how it cuts down how much time I spend sweeping, vacuuming and mopping. My clients can tell a huge difference when I mop and when I steam. I would definitely recommend a Bissell Symphony All-In-0ne, I have not been disappointed with this product.
