Loved this product until it quit steaming within 3 months. I received this one as a replacement for one that was under warranty and quit steaming. This product will not hold up and continue to steam, and yes, I did use distilled water in the product. Great concept and I will miss it, because when it worked it was great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry to hear the second machine stopped working, JRH - that's quite unusual. We're going to send a new machine for you to try which you should have in 5-7 days!

Great mop, so-so vacuum

I have had my Symphony for about three months, and in that time I have basically torture tested it. We bought it when we purchased a new home that had primarily travertine floors. It's a fairly good sized house and every single room is travertine apart from the two extra bedrooms, which are carpeted. So I use it a lot in every way intended. AS A STEAM MOP This is where the symphony shines, in my opinion. First off, it's recommend to use only water when cleaning travertine, so this is perfect. I steam mop my house entirely every second or third day. When using the hi steam mode I find the steam to be plentiful and I only need to do about two passes over stuck-on spots. My floors look and feel very clean after I've mopped them in this way. They dry in minutes too! Now this is not an industrial-strength steamer that is going to clean out your grout or remove years worth of stains and build up. I believe if you buy it for that purpose you would be disappointed. Using it as a replacement for your typical household mop I have found to be wonderful, clean and time saving, however. My only complaint is that the mop only came with two pads, so I'm constantly washing them. AS VACUUM Obviously with no brushes or rollers this should not replace your household vacuum cleaner, especially if you have carpets. I have vacuumed the carpets with it and it does a fair job of sucking up hair and dirt, but it certainly is not brushing your carpet and it is not sucking up everything. I typically only use this about once a week to vacuum my travertine, it actually has a very strong suction and is good at picking up the dirt that I miss with the broom, and it's easier and lighter than my regular vacuum. We have a German Shepherd and her tumbleweeds are everywhere, and this is where my 1st complaint comes in as a hard surface vacuum: the blower blows hair everywhere, away from the vacuum so you have to chase it. Also, the foot attachment for use when vacuuming is hard plastic and can scrape floors when debris gets stuck beneath it. They need to fix that, it's actually ridiculous. AS BOTH I can't imagine how this is supposed to work. When the steam mop pad is in place, it blocks the suction hole. So nothing will be sucked up. I guess it's to vacuum up the steam so the floors dry faster? No idea. Overall I love this for its mopping qualities alone. 1500 sq feet of stone is a lot to keep clean with a sponge or string mop. No chemicals, floors dry super fast, and steam sanitizes! I've had no mechanical issues as yet, it's still as sturdy as the day I got it. The vacuum is a nice benefit, but it doesn't add value until they change the blower direction and offer a floor-safe foot attachment.

Thank you for your review. For bare floor cleaning, make sure to keep the mop pad on to protect your floors. The suction port is above the mop pad, so all your dirt/hair from your dog will be suctioned up into the dirt cup.

I've only had it back from the repair man for a couple days. Pro's: * saves the broom/mop hassle * Steams beautifully Con's: * Expensive * Heavy * Bulky * Weak vaccuum suctioning * Pads must be washed daily * refill water too often * Using cleaning chemicals can damage machine * After a 24 hour use tiles look dingy * LOUD vacuum * No retractable cord

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just installed vinyl flooring which needs to be vacuumed and mopped! I did not want to put a lot of water on my new floors but they needed mopping. That is were my new Bissell All-in-one vacuum and steam mop has saved the day! We also have an inside cat, and the vacuum is great for picking up cat hair along with people hair, crumbs and dirt! The best part is that I can complete 2 jobs at one time. Thank-you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The steam part works quite well. However the vacuum could be a bit stronger. I also wish it had wheels so that it could do low profile carpets. As usual, Bissell has a very good product.

I purchased one for myself and my two daughters. We absolutely loved using this to sweep and mop our hardwood/tile floors. One by one the clicker that you hold to dispense the water quit working. Now all 3 units only vacuum. An obvious defect with this item. I tried to get it repaired and was told I was better off buying another unit. Bissell said they couldn't do anything because no longer under warranty. Very disappointed!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
