NOT EXACTLY WHAT IT'S CRACKED UP TO BE

I bought this to replace my Haan simple steamer. This was a disappointment out of the box on the 1st use. I figured maybe I was expecting too much, and NO - I've had it for 4 months, and it's already broken!! (I'm not the best of housekeepers, so that thing's only been used about 20x!) The mop prevents the vacuum cleaner from making multiple passes at standing dirt, and the wheels on the bottom of the cleaner prevent the mop surface from solid contact with the floor stain. Doesn't clean scuffs, and has difficulty with dried splatter from the slobbery dog. In other words - only good to use right after a spill. Pros: easy to fill with water, and the floor can be "cleaned" in 1 filling! Cons: Quite Pricey, and not much better than a swifter mop in performance

Thanks for your feedback. It's good to know the assembly of your Symphony was easy for you. We can get you back to cleaning in no time. For the best suction make sure the vac light is on. Check the dirt cup to ensure there are no gaps and is locked into the machine. The filters need to be cleaned also for good airflow. We recommend checking the hoses too for any gaps; they need to be secured onto the machine. The Symphony works great on set in stains, so let's take a look at the steam with your machine. Set the steam ready light on high. This will promote more steam to come out on those stubborn stains. The trigger on the upper handle needs to be pressed up to 2 minutes to prime the machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We moved to new home with tons of tile flooring and new construction all around us with dust and dirt everywhere I was really having trouble getting the floors clean and keeping them clean for more than a day. Sweeping and then mopping took about 2.5 hrs. I started looking for an alternative and found this little jewel. I say jewel because it has cut my labor into less than half. The vacuum then steam function really gets the fine dust and furball bunnies from our two cats off the floor and it feels squeaky clean. I use the regular steam function for most of the floors but will use the super steam when I come across some wet-then-dried mud or something sticky so I can usually clean all my hard floors with one or maybe one and a half fills of the water reservoir. I'm LOVING this little vacuum. I will say that I tried just using the vacuum this weekend and while it picked up the big stuff, it didn't pick up anything that was kinda stuck to the floor (sheetrock dust my hubs stepped on), but with the added steam, all that comes right off.

I use this item on all my floors. It vacuums up the dirt then steam cleans the same area. It really picks up the dirt. I get my floors clean all at one time.

This sounded perfect for moving to a house at the beach with tile floors and pets. What could be better than vacuuming and mopping at once? I have found the Symphony to be very disappointing. No matter how often I change the pads, the floors streak. The vacuum hardly sucks up pet hair or dirt. It mostly blows it around. I have one area rug and have tried to use only the vacuum feature. It requires herculean strength to push it across the rug-with or without the attachment. I continue to use it hoping it will get better, but sadly it doesn't perform as I had hoped.

We appreciate your posting and can help to get good suction with your Symphony, also we can help to stop the streaks on your floor. Before starting make sure the "vac" light is on. The filters must be clean for good suction. Also, when placed back into the machine, there can't be any gaps and also with the hoses. Make sure the filters and hoses are connected properly. We recommend pulling off the floor nozzle to check for any hair that may be causing a clog and restricting airflow.
The streaks may come from using waxed based products in the past. Or if you linger too long spraying the steam streaks might appear. To remove, take a dry white cloth with vinegar and wipe the streaks out.
