I have 5 cats in the house, and I bought this vacuum to pick up cat hair, and dirt, and to steam clean my hardwood floors. I noticed very little steam coming from the unit and on floor, and it wasn't picking up bits of cat litter, and other particles from floor, especially along walls and corners, which indicated to me that it had little pickup power. I've used it once, so I'll try it again soon. Not impressed yet though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used the vacuum for picking up the dog hair and the bird mess and it worked great. The steam cleaner was easy to use and got the floor clean and sparkling.

I bought this item one week ago. Used it the first time, it worked great! Tried to use it again today, and it would not heat up. The only function that worked was the vacuum. The heat light was "on", but it wouldn't heat up, wouldn't dispense water, and wouldn't produce steam. Called Customer Service, and she ran me through some steps to ensure the machine wasn't clogged. It still won't work, so now I have to take it to a local Bissell repair center! This unit is brand new...I shouldn't have to do that! I'm very disappointed in this item, and will likely go back to using Shark products.

I bought this to replace as I didn't like the hassle of pulling out my vacuum before mopping. This doesn't hug as close to the floor surface but still love the convenience. Difficult to not squeeze the steam handle when only using the vacuum. #sweepstakes

Used it in my kitchen as I have puppies that drag mud in from the garden. My tile is a little ridged and this mop does not clean the depressions of the ridged tile, so always looks a little dirty. Then after two months the steam stopped working. I have many Bissell products and this is the first time I have been disappointed.
