Not made for a home with pets

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I wish I could rate this product higher but I really can't. We registered for this product on our wedding registry and I fully regret it. While our vacuum/steam mop has worked, I think its design was not well executed. The cord is short and wired to the base of the vacuum. Every time I do the upstairs of our home (900 square feet) I have to move the vacuum twice. This means the heating process starts over again when running the steam mop. Additionally, the spot where the cord is affixed to the bottom means that I am constantly stepping on the cord as a vacuum and mop. The cord should be towards the middle or top of the vacuum, not the bottom. The vacuum and steam mop work well on hard floors but the vacuum is useless on area rugs. Without the "spinner" component that other vacuums have, this one hardly picks up anything on area rugs. The canister is located toward the base of the vacuum. I originally didn't think this was a big deal but it's actually the worst design feature on this vacuum. The canister prevents you from being able to easily extend the vacuum under chairs, beds, and other furniture. Where does dog and cat hair like to accumulate? Under sofas and beds and other hard to reach places. The canister should be moved toward the top of the vacuum for easy of use under furniture. Lack of accessories! I've never owned a pet vacuum that didn't come with different attachments and accessories, until now. Why is there not an extender to have suction reach tight corners? Where the duster brush and upholstery attachments? Overall I don't think that this was actually designed by people who have pets. I would not be able to recommend this product to anyone I know with pets because of these issues.

I bought this vacuum and steam mop to help me keep my floors clean. I have two dogs and one older child so there is constantly dirt being added to our floors. I really liked the fact that this Mop can do both dry and wet cleaning that I would consider sanitized within reason. The floor feels terrific once I have completed cleaning the floor and it looks terrific. If you run into streaks while using this mop it maybe cause you are moving the mop too slow.

While I bit my lip when considering the investment, this is the best cleaning tool I've ever purchased. I also bought the scented water and wow... the deep scent of clean is filling my house. But it's not the heavy scent of a chemical cleaning product, just the gentle scent of clean.

I should have sent this back after the first use! I had trouble with a foul odor and was sent new filters. it help some, but the odor is still present so I have to deodorize after each use. now the steam function isn't working and instead of steam it's dumping water. I believe I purchased a lemon. I know several people that have this and love it. I'm not that lucky.

Love this symphony and I would of gave it a 5 star if the heater in the steamer had not gone out in 2 of them and the first one well I don't even know why it stop working. But I will say that when I contacted Bissell they was very good on helping out with the matter.

I do not use this for big cleaning job but for daily jobs. The vacuum works well getting all my dog hair, etc. The mop work well. My only complaint is that sometimes the steam portion of it stops working, but not till I am almost done. The last Bissell steam mop I had was worthless junk - this is MUCH better in comparison!
