[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a dog and used this product on my ceramic floors. Worked perfectly, easy to use lightweight and cleans wonderfully. Doesn't leave excess water on the floor, you could only see that it was a little moist. Versatile, can use as vacuum alone, or as a steamer alone, or both at the same time. #Sweepstakes

My Favorite Vacuum/Steamer

I was so glad when I discovered the Symphony Pet Vacuum Steamer several years ago. From the very first time I used it my cleaning job became simpler. My home contains a variety of hard surface floors: tile, hardwood, and vinyl. I used to need to carry two machines up and down the stairs, a vacuum and a steamer. Now I use just one. I don't have any pets but I always buy the Bissell Pet machines, because the filters, vacuum foot, dust collector, and water hoses can be washed and air dried. The pads are replaceable, machine washable, and dry-able. Bissell also makes and sells replacement pads, filters, dust cups and vacuum bases. The customer service was great when my machine needed replacement parts under warranty. The vacuum suction is excellent, however, the vacuum sound is quite loud. I often wear sound isolating headphones to protect my ears. Unfortunately the loudness of the vacuum when it runs prevents me from hearing my music. The power cord is quite adequate. It is also easy to select from low steam for my hardwood floors or high steam for the vinyl and tile floors. The only problem I have with Bissell vacuum - steamers is that the user must hold the handle switch down at all times to obtain steam. There is no constant-on switch for the steam dispensing function. This is a problem for me as it causes stress to my fingers, wrists, elbow joints, arm muscles and shoulders in whichever limb is being used to work the machine. The stress can cramp my fingers and muscles as well as aggravate the arthritis in my joints. This was my second purchase of a Symphony Pet Vacuum/Steamer. I had hoped the newer machines did not work in this fashion, but no improvements in this area have been made. The other problem with the steam dispensing being in the machine handle is that it is made of a thin, fragile plastic. Shortly after the two year warranty expired, this part broke. I needed to purchase a new machine even though everything else still worked.

Bissell Symphony

I saw the advertisement on TV and ordered it... I have been using it for two weeks now... I have laminate and tile floors... I have been using a shark system vac & steam the vacuum is not as powerful as the Bissell and the steam has one setting only... The shark leaves streaks on my wood floors so I have to use a mop and floor treatment to remove them which takes a lot of time. With the Symphony on low I have no streaks... My cleaning time is about 10 minutes from 45 with the shark...I love this machine it does everything they said it would... Thank You Bissell..

I bought Bissell 1132A Symphony All-in-One Vacuum and Steam Mop (4 Mop Pads Included) back in December 2014. We never used it at all until today. I unboxed it, and tried to use it, no steam come out. I called Bissell and of course they said, out of warranty out of luck. Now I think I spent close to $200 on that machine just to purchase a broken machine, with absolutely no support. I am on my own, thank you and way to go Bissell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glad I waited and bought the Symphony

I had been thinking about purchasing a competing product but was hesitant , then I caught the ad late one night for the Symphony and I LOVE IT! I have 3 dogs and they are starting to shed. The Symphony pulls in the clumps of fur before I'm even over it. I use it as a stick vac most of the day and then put the mop pad on as needed for muddy paw prints and etc. My husband gave me a bit of grief over ordering from a tv commercial, but after seeing the results in the kitchen he was glad I got it. Works great on my throw rugs too/ The only minor negative I have there is a short tube from where the debris sucked up across the foot before it goes up the tube and into the dust cup. That short tube is a bit tricky to get to if you get a clog. I accidentally got a toothpick lodged in there and with the dog hair it got caught and there were about 12 screws to remove to get to it. I am usually very careful not to pick up large objects but this was under the edge of the cupboard where I didn't see it first. Again this is a minor detail. I got it opened and closed in about 5 min with a screwdriver, no big deal was very easy to reassemble and back to work. I have cleaned up dog food no problem, smaller debris from our firewood area no problem and a lot of dog hair with no problems. I use it 3-4 times a day and would not want to be without it ever again.

Symphony Disappoints

I purchase the Symphony in May and now I am waiting for my second replacement unit. The original unit was not producing any steam even after I followed the customer service reps instructions on how to rectify this problem. After 3 months the replacement did not heat up and leaked from several areas when I filled the tank. I am now waiting for the third unit. I love how it vacuums and steams the floors. The product does a great job, when it functions properly.

This product is amazing. I use it everyday and pickes up all the hair and dirt. It also steam mops the floor while you vacuum so it saves so much time. This is literally the best vacuum i have ever had!!

horrible smell!!

I purchased this about 2 months ago, and loved it after first use. However, after first use it exudes a horrible odor. I change pass after every use and clean filter also but have been unable to get rid of smell. It's a huge disappointment and if I could take it back I definitely would!
