I live in Las Vegas where we have a fine sand dust. The vacuum feature pushes the sand around but does not pick it up. I am returning the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using it on laminate flooring and tile works very well. The vacuum portion is pretty loud but effective and allows you to skip sweeping the floor first. It comes with 2 microfibre type pads, but also an adapter that allows the use of the disposable swiffer steam type pads as well. I find the vacuum aspect leaves the floor more dry than my swiffer steam unit so that's also nice. The vacuum container also has a couple neat features to help empty it without reaching your hand inside to pull out all the dog hair! Assuming it lasts a few years I think it's great

Bissell's Symphony is the best cleaning product I've used to date. I've been using my Symphony for two months and since its arrival in my home, there are four other products that can no longer be found.. A broom, a dustpan, a mop and floor cleaner chemicals. Good riddance! The Symphony is perfect for many reasons. First, the design is beautiful. I actually prefer it sit in a corner of my kitchen where all can see it and where it is convenient to grab for quick use. Second, it is very easy to use with an extending handle for hight adjustment and storage. The Symphony can be used in three modes: Hi Steam, Lo Steam, Vac. Even better, I can vacuum and steam my floors at the same time, which is how I prefer to use my Symphony. Third, the steam unit uses only distilled water for sanitizing floors, not harsh chemicals! Plus, the removable cleaning pad on the bottom of the Symphony gets cleaned right in your washing machine.. That's right.. It's reusable!! (If I were the environment, I'd be smiling and saying thank you to Bissell right now.) But I'm someone who shares the environment with others and for that, thank you Bissell for an outstanding eco-friendly product! Fourth, the Symphony gets my floors really clean! I like to walk around bare foot and its the worst to have little particles of yuck stick to your feet because your broom and dust pan couldn't do a satisfactory job on the floors. The vacuum sucks up all the debris on the floor while the steam loosens anything dirty and sticky which will then be picked up in the steam pad. The way the Symphony was designed allows for the steam vac to reach under the over hang of counters and under tables and chairs with ease. And finally Fifth, the Symphony is easy to clean up. There is a quick release foot pedal on the back that releases the pad which gets tossed in the laundry. A smooth lever under the vacuum dirt tank slides to the side to release the debris canister which can then be dumped into the garbage. Water doesn't collect in this canister only dust and dirt so it's easy to dispose of. The vacuum canister and vacuum filter can be rinsed with water before its placed back on the Symphony, if so desired, which means that the Symphony itself is just as clean after you finished cleaning with it, as it was when you started cleaning with it. My broom and mop could never do that!! Bissell's Symphony is brilliant and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone. It would be nice to see this machine being used in commercial kitchens and restaurants as well as households everywhere! Cheers!

FINALLY!!! A streamer & vacuum that actually works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have gone through several different products trying to find something that will actually vacuum, steam & CLEAN my floor. All the products I've tried anyways end up doing the same thing; collecting debris, adding it to and creating dirty water, and then push then push it all around my house. This product is by far impressive!! Not only does it collect debris efficiently, it keeps it separate from the wet mess others others have created. And even better it allows you to use it as a vacuum and a steamer separately, as well as together. Most of the products I've had in the past have always been very weak as well. Causing to frequently go over and over those really hard spots in my floor which had totally destroyed most of my hardwood. The suction is extremely powerful and with a few clicks of the trigger the steamer erases those hard spots with one or 2 toys. This product has cut my cleaning in half and saved the rest of my floor.

I love this vacuum! I have been looking for something that both steams and vacuums and this does the trick. We have an over 18 year old dog that is senile and often forgets to potty outside, so we steam mop every day. Unfortunately, the dog also trips into her food dish and spreads dog food bits around the room. It was always a battle to steam mop without first vacuuming. Now we can do it all at once! The vacuum is far stronger than I expected it to be. Often is these multiple use devices, one of the applications doesn't work well. Not true here! Vacuum is strong, steam works well. If I have one negative thing to say, it would be the water refill cup. I was thrilled to see that it attaches right to the machine so I don't have to hunt for it to refill the water. But after a few uses this does not prove to be a good idea. While using the vacuum, I am constantly knocking the cup off and sending it flying. But definitely minor criticism. I haven't yet used the attachment for disposable pads. All-in-all, this is a great machine so far!
