Bought this in July 2016, today it stopped steaming, motor got very hot and there is an odd clicking sound. Cleaned all filters again. Feel as though I have wasted my money - very frustrated as last week my Bissell vacuum bought year ago and only lightly used stopped working. These are my last Bissell purchases!!!!!!

So pleased with the performance of this handy vacuum and steam mop. Had a problem with the mop pad tray reattaching, Bissell immediately sent me a replacement tray. I use my Symphony at least twice a week and am very happy with the results, fast and easy clean floors.

it is ONLY a steam cleaner so would just be spraying out the steam and wiping the same cloth around unless you plan to keep changing the cloth for a single cleaning not very effective and didn't have enough heat/steam push out to even help get things off the floor was very disappointed.. still waiting for return to finish processing i sent it back within days.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two short-lived machines, will never buy again.

I just threw out my second Bissel Symphony, which only lasted 13 months. I used only pure distilled water, followed all instructions, emptied the canister and cleaned the filters, yet the same exact thing happened as did with my first one -- the steam trigger on the handle just suddenly quit working. When the first one failed my husband and I tried everything we could think of to fix it, no no avail. This time I just chucked the darn thing! I'm particularly nervous, because I bought a Bissel carpet cleaner about a month ago. Now I'm wondering just how soon I'll have to replace that too! These machines are way too expensive to last only a year -- I simply cannot shell that much out every winter for a hard floor cleaner. At least my Sharks lasted a couple years each, and they were less expensive. Back I go to Shark, despite really wanting the two-in-one steam and vacuum. I am so incredibly disappointed with this product and this company, and I honestly don't trust any of their products anymore.

I have a dog that sheds enough to make a new dog weekly. With a large house of hardwood floors, it's been a chore and a half to keep my floors hair free and clean. Prior to purchasing the Bissell, I used a Swiffer to get the top layer of hair and dust, followed by a vacuum, and then ending with a steamer. It was a full three hour task just to do the upstairs. When I saw this, I knew it was worth a try. To start with, I thought there was too much moisture for my wood floors, but that was obviously because I had to prime the machine on Hi steam and once I changed pads, it was fine. The vacuum part seems to get all the dust and hair that my Roomba and swiffer did and I love love LOVE not having to go over the same floor 3 times to get the job done. But, the biggest reason I love this new Bissell is the dirt that it gets up. For two years, I have been using the Shark floor steamer and thought I was getting my floors clean. Well, maybe I was in the bathrooms and bedrooms, but I could not believe the difference on my kitchen floor. I went through three pads the first time I used it and there was STILL dirt on the third pad. I thought my kitchen tile was just dull. Nope, it just was not really clean. The reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I don't like the way the mop head attaches. It has a tendency to come loose versus snapping in securely which is a bit of a pain, but I just snap it on again and move forward. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
