I absolutely loved this machine! The reason I gave it 2 stars is because that is about how long it worked. Two years. Then it just stopped working. I feel as though a machine of this nature (clever as it is) should last longer than 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointed. We are awaiting our 4th unit from Bissell. First 3 either the steam never worked or worked one time. I feel there is a problem in the eengineeringof this product. The vacuum worked okay.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this! I was on the fence between buying a steam mop and/or a vaccum - low and behold this magical machine. I only have hardwood and tiles, and it is perfect! It's a light machine, easy to use and store.

I received this for CHRISTmas 2013, and used it for the first time right after New Years. I immediately fell in love with this product. I used it on laminate floors in the hallway, and in the dining room. Than tried it on linoleum in the kitchen, It works great on laminate, linoleum, tile in the bathrooms. I already recommended this to my daughters, and daughter-in-law. We are a Bissell family forever.

I bought this product 2 months ago. Have used it on several occasions. It is lightweight, easy to use and cleans great. Love that I can vacuum and steam clean at the same time. Saves time and energy so I can do more important things than clean. We have bamboo and linoleum flooring and have not had any issues. The only thing is that it obviously doesn't get into everywhere that needs to be cleaned but they are few and far between so it's okay. The only drawback is the water resevoir. A bit hard to open the cover and then if I don't use all the water...well, then I chose to dump it rather than it sitting in the tank.

I read both positive and some negative reviews before purchasing and after using it for the first time, I think overall it's a good product that does what it's intended for, which is a steam mop with the added benefit of having a vacuum to pick up dust/small particles. This is not intended to be a replacement for your full powered vacuum. I also thought the price was fair for the value it provides. I'll list the cons first and then the pros: Cons: -vacuum does not have very powerful suction -dust got wet and stuck to floor and I ended up pushing it into corners -vacuum does not work well on rugs -Mop pad does not reach corners well since the vacuum is in the front -disposable mops didn't work well for me. But maybe they are good for very dirty messes (like pet accidents) where you would not want to reuse the washable mop Pros: -Saves a ton of time (you don't have to sweep and then mop) -Although I did not see instructions for this, you can use any cleaning detergent you'd like, I just filled up the water tank with half a cup of my own floor cleaner and the rest with water, and it worked very well and smelled great. This was the biggest benefit for me -steam mop with water is a good way to kill germs without chemicals (good for pets and kids who lick or touch floors) -it was fun to use and I honestly just like seeing the steam do the cleaning -washable mops save money and picked up dust pretty well
