only concern is awful chemical smell inside. I have been leaving door open to air out but still there. It also came with chips off paint on outside.

My son bought the same model because it is perfect for pistols. I bought mine and have 6 pistols and other valuables inside, with plenty of room. It worked perfectly from day one and I have to have the backup key override because I never completely trust a digital lock. I rigged up a battery powered light inside, which helps these old eyes find what I want. Love the product.

Solid Safe but Batteries Pop Out

The overall construction of the safe is good, however there is no cover plate for the batteries (just the key hook plate that covers the batteries but it isn't snug). The batteries pop out of place constantly resulting in the need to open the safe with the key, which defeats the entire purpose of the keypad safe. I currently duct tape the batteries into place, which isn't ideal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
