ONLY WATERPROOF IF BOLTED TO NON FLAMMABLE FLOOR

For the price point the safe seems to be of good quality. I got it without knowing that the only way it could be water proof is if it were bolted to a concrete floor. The only place I can put my safe is in the basement, and if there were a fire hope the basement filled with less than 12" of water. If this were to be bolted to wood you run the risk of the wood burning off of the anchors which would then allow water, heat and gases to penetrate the inside as the anchors would then be loose on the inside of the safe. The install instructions do not address this...

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for not making the need to bolt down this safe to make it water resistant more obvious.
You are correct that the water protection does require bolting the safe down, however it can be bolted down to either wood or concrete surfaces.The example that you give concerning being bolted down to a wood surface is plausbile, however it doesn't invalidate the warranty.
To further address your concern we would suggest you use some fire resistant caulk to help maintain the integrity of the seal and keep the bolts in place. The caulk can be found at most hardware stores or larger home improvement outlets and is relatively inexpensive.

I needed an additional safe, but not a full size. This model met all my needs, stores much more than it looks like it will, and works wonderfully. The feature for securing it to the floor or wall is another great feature.
