Excellent product, you plug it in and it works. I broke one of the handles and was easily able to have GE replace it for me.

Overall nice, missed a few details

Pros: Nice clean look (stainless). The fridge is spacious, it's about as deep as you can get with a counter depth fridge. Allows for deep door shelves and more efficient organization in my opinion. I like the lights. Every shelf is adjustable. The freezer is nicely compartmentalized with a top and bottom tray, both compartmentalized. My impression is the freezer is on the small side compared to my old side by side, but the extra fridge room is preferred. The water dispenser is located on the left wall, inside the fridge. I read some bad reviews on it, but it works just fine for me. You may get a few drips but just hold your cup there for a second more - also it's just water so no big deal. I also read some reviews saying the fridge is noisy. I have no issue with this.
Cons: What is the deal with all that plastic?? It never all comes off. The seam that shows the most (above freezer door) does not look clean even after taking tweezers to the little bits of plastic left over. I think removing the plastic took the majority of the total installation time. Talk about over-engineered. The fridge rolls too easily. Sometimes opening the freezer door makes the fridge roll out. The "drop down shelf" is not secured when not in use because the latch does not spring back enough or the components sizes are a little off. I wish the freezer top tray would spring out automatically so the ice tray is easily accessible when the door is opened. Stainless is nice but it could probably be more smudge resistant.

Counter depth with lots of room

After looking at refridgerators at all the area stores and area appliance stores we chose this model GE. It has a lot of room inside and does not have space wasted by through the door water and ice dispenser equipment. We have owned it for only two months and so far it has met our every demand. The ice maker keeps up with our needs and my wife loves the full width deli-beverage drawer.

Good performance, looks, like the counter-depth, built-in looks. Plenty of room in fridge doors and main compartment. Cons include the internal water dispenser is very awkward to use, and you have to open both doors to access the deli drawer where we keep meat and cheese, etc.

This is a very nice refrigerator, but I was disappointed when I say how small the interior shelves are because of the installation of the water dispenser. I really didn't need the water dispenser. If I hand known that I probably would have selected a different model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
