LOVE the slate color

I just bought this refrigerator along with the rest of the matching slate appliances (oven, dishwasher & over the range microwave). I love that you can't see finger prints less to clean. The quality of these appliances are top notch, I would definitely recommend them to anyone shopping for appliances.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If GE would only reduce the fan noise!

We bought 2 of these for our new house and although the design (for the most part) is great and the slate finish is beautiful, the fan noise is very annoying. GE should do better than this on a fridge for this amount of money. Don't buy unless you actually listen to one running or you will be disappointed. Also, the top drawer in the freezer pulls out with the rest of the freezer and makes a banging noise when you pull the freezer out. Top drawer should just be a manual pull out. I would only recommend this if I made sure I told them to beware of the noise. I am only stating "yes" I would recommend it because of the slate finish.

This refrigerator is too small. I can not get all the usual items I used to put in my previous refrigerator. There is a lot of wasted space!!!!!

Doors

The doors do not shut unless you manually shut them. Most refrigerators have an auto shut door. You push it to a point and it shuts. Not this ride. Is this by design? Very frustrating

Have to YANK open the freezer door!!!!

After waiting 8 weeks, I finally received my GE profile series counter depth fridge only to find out how “difficult” it is to open the freezer door. You have to pull SO hard that the refrigerator comes flying forward. I just read the reviews and this is a complaint of MANY consumers not just me. I chose this because of the counter depth, design, LED lighting, smudge resistant stainless steel, the roominess inside and especially the layout of the side doors which allows for tall bottles and cartons and I didn’t want an ice maker on the outside. Those features did NOT disappoint me!
That was what I was replacing due to all the problems. I ordered this several months ago and noticed it had 4 1/2 stars from over a 1,000 reviews plus my neighbor recommended it so I thought I’d be safe ordering this. It’s also very noisy which I read about in the reviews but my neighbor disagreed and said it’s just the “usual” noises. Not so! It makes a LOT of noises that my previous fridge didn’t have. I got rid of my previous one because the ice maker was in the front door and it continually leaked and broke down plus I sacrificed a lot of space on the side door because of it.
HOWEVER The problem of difficulty opening the freezer door and the fridge moving forward because you have to pull with such force FAR OUTWEIGHS the “pros” of this refrigerator.

Hi sunshinegirl1127 - We'd like to thank you for posting your refrigerator review and giving us a chance to help. If the freezer door is hard to open, please take a look at the information in this link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16775
Due to the size of the doors and the strength of the door gaskets, it is possible that it may roll or move when one of the doors is opened. Since the rollers/wheels do not lock in place, it may help to place a piece of wood, a small wood wedge, or plastic furniture coaster (with felt on the bottom) under the wheels to prevent rolling. We hope this helps. - Sharon@GEA

Noisiest refrigerator I've ever seen

Operates well, keeps good temperatures. NOISY! Vibrates! I called the dealer, the salesman said he had the same model and it was a bit noisier due to a dual compressor but mine hums very loud, When I push against it the hum might stop for a few seconds. Dealer is sending out a repairman to check operation of the unit. I would not buy it again and would return it for a different refrigerator from a different manufacturer.

Delivered yesterday, on 24 hrs. Temp 42 F last night when we went to bed, 49 this morning and rose to 51 in past 2 hrs despite door closed. Replaced cosmetically poor unit w a $3000.00 stainless steel coffin. Replacement unit not available. Service can’t come out for at least a week. I suppose they are VERY busy if they service GE products. Planned Thanksgiving dinner for 28 will be impossible.

Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us with notice of your concern. We truly hate to hear you've had trouble with the refrigerator not cooling. We know how frustrating that would be, especially with a model that was only just delivered. This isn't the ownership experience we wish to provide, and we'd like to assist.
A newly installed refrigerator can take a day or two to fully cool down and reach the desired temperature. If the cooling issue continues past that point, you may want to check that there are no gaps or tears in the gasket; if the door doesn't seal correctly, that can cause a cooling problem. You also may want to make sure the refrigerator has enough air clearance - at least 1 inch on each side as well as the top and back. We have an article with other troubleshooting steps here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21185 . Your manual also has troubleshooting steps, starting on page 46.
After reviewing our system, we do see that you set up a service appointment. If for any reason you need to reach out to our service department again they are available at 1-800-432-2737. We are confident the technician will be able to diagnose and repair your cooling concern. Our Refrigerator Design team will also be advised of your experience for future review and consideration.
We hope you are able to get this issue with cooling resolved soon, so you can proceed with your plans for Thanksgiving without any more trouble! If you have any further questions or concerns, we are always glad to help. -Sarah@GEA
