GE - Quality Issues

Purchased this frig to match existing GE appliances, here's how the horrid experience unfolded:
First unit delivered and installed, it never cooled, we lost everything, called to have it replaced.
Replacement unit arrived with 2 inch long, quarter inch deep dent in the side of the door, scratches on the front, dirt / black stains in the ice-maker that could not be cleaned. We had the installer call for a replacement on the spot.
2nd replacement (3rd unit) arrived Saturday 10/15/16, it has a small dent / blemish on the top left corner of the right-hand door. The unit is missing the registration card, and has stickers for some sort of testing that occurred on 09/30/16 - making us wonder if it really is a new unit, or another customers reject.
We're frustrated and at a loss on best course of action as we can't keep switching out our frig. I highly doubt we'll ever consider purchasing a GE appliance in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible Quality. New floor model died in 4 months

Bought a floor model new one. Compressor died within 4 months despite not being used ever in the 2 years it was on the floor unplugged. Because it's out of warranty I now have to shell out a ton of money for a new compressor. My last fridge was a GE that lasted 14 years. This one lasted 4 months. Never buying GE again because quality has gone to complete garbage

Poor product

I find all the good reviews shocking. 1) The first one I bought,, had to be returned because it was lemon. Made a horrible loud clicking noise. 2) The slate scratches really, really easy. Can't put a thing on it on the front unless you are begging for scratches. 3) You can't put anything heavy in the left door. Like a full gallon of milk for example (or orange juice, or water bottles....nothing heavy at all) The heaviness of the door makes it pop out of the groove in the center of the fridge which seals both doors. If you don't notice it you have a huge gap between the doors, thus allowing all your cold out. 4) The stainless on the handles catches every bit of dirt, smudge anything. prepare to wear gloves when you open the door unless you want it to look awful. 5) The spacing of the shelves is poor. I had to completely take a shelf out so tall items would fit. The spacing options/shelf level options are very limiting - only 1 or 2 options.
Suffice it to say, if I could return the refrigerator --- I would in a heart beat and will tell everyone I know to skip this one if asked. That being said --- the Slate color LOOKS lovely...I love it --- but the scratching makes it impracticle.

The Loudest Refrigerator ever

My GE Profile frig broke down within the1st month of purchasing. The motherboard died. 2nd time it broke down was due to the motor. 3rd time it broke down was due to the internal circuit board. This frig is so loud that we have to close the door to the kitchen at the end of the night so that we don't hear it in the bedroom. Also, all my lettuce and vegetables freeze in the crisper drawer as well as items that touch the bottom walls. Came home to find the frig at 66 degrees in both the frig and freezer. Decided not to repair this time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks great. Cools very poorly. Never runs at temperature set in settings. Always 5° warmer.

Good frog, but...

Installed yesterday, nice unit - fit well and am happy with purchase except for one small, but important detail - the door shelves are too short - placing a gallon on milk is one thing, but a 2L of soda will tip if not wedged or in a semi-full shelf - same with 20 oz bottles of water, soda or beer; Yes you can use the sliding shelf and move to back but should you really lose shelf space because you chose to drink a 2L or a single bottle of wine - there are no shelf options or a single taller unit for that use - it would seem to make sense
