The most space for a counter depth fridge

I did a lot of research online before purchasing this refrigerator. Our kitchen has a built in cabinet space for the refrigerator that is not very wide .We were also restricted by the depth as we have a large island right across from the space. Our old refrigerator was a side by side. It fit well and was functional, but I really wanted a French door model. The GE gave us the most cubic foot and the internal water dispenser and ice maker. We have an ice machine so we did not need the ice maker but we did want the filtered water. The interior option did not take up as much room inside the refrigerator as the outside dispender. We have had GE products in the past and had good experience with service.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We had a side-by-side before, but love the space in this new fridge. Also don't miss the water and ice in the door - much better looking and no water/ice spills on the floor. We don't use a lot of ice, but the icemaker works great. The freezer drawer is a bit hard to pull out - might be hard for kids/elderly. Nice and quiet - works like a charm!

I like this counter depth refrigerator but the doors are hard to open. The doors also don't open or stay open all the way hence the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Makes it hard to get into for any length of time.

Great layout, works well for the depth of shelves

The fridge has a great layout that really works out well considering the shallow depth of the shelves (my family was used to a deeper fridge, not a counter depth). It's easy to set up, does it's job well, hides the controls in the door-edge (which I thought might be an issue, but really it's not) and has a sleek exterior that I really like.
Where it falls a little bit short is in the force one has to use to open the freezer drawer. Considering the fridge is already only counter depth (and is therefore lighter than other fridges), and the freezer drawer seals so well, it's very easy to inadvertently slide the fridge forward while trying to open the freezer drawer. And, this is with the anchor feet extended so far down that it lifts the rollers off the ground. So a mechanical assist built into the drawer pull handle might make it a bit better.
