Good design layout in both frig and freezer. Can see everything at a glance. I especially like the great lighting.

Compressor failed after 3 months

The refrigerator stopped working after 3 months. It took a week to get a technician out and he determined it was the compressor. It took another 2 weeks for the parts to be delivered and the fridge repaired. The repair took over two hours. The next morning, it was dead because it blew a circuit. It continued to blow the dedicated circuit after just a few hours until I finally just didn't reset it anymore. GE finally agreed to replace the fridge and it was delivered today, exactly one month after the original fridge failed. I am now having the other problem I see in the reviews and questions where I cannot see the actual temperature on the display.
Refrigerator was purchased by the builders of my new home.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My GE Profile Model # TPH21PRSM BB just broke and I am looking new one.Please help me to buy similar model which could at least 30 years. This one was installed in 1993.

It seems to be of excellent quality. There is nothing tacky or cheap looking about it. I am absolutely thrilled about the way it fits next to my counter and the wall on the side.
The bin design is not made for vegetarians as the meat bin is huge and the veggie and fruit bins are not, but it seems to be keeping these items fine even if they are not in the bin. I like the ice bin and the way it comes out so easily, but it is a bit small. In some ways that is good, because old ice tastes bad. This way, the ice is fresh. I don't use much ice, so if I do have to throw it out anyway, It was hard to take out that whole icemaking unit. This bin is so-o easy and the bin fills back up quickly. If you plan to entertain more than a few people, just remember to save some up a day or so ahead of time.
I am so glad I did not get refrigerator with ice and water in the door. My last fridge had that, and it always made a mess. In addition, our water is hard, so it eventually left hard water stains that I could not get out.

Like the water feature does not take up any space. Looks great, fingerprint resistant is a nice upgrade. The freezer is nice along with ice. The only complaint is how hard the top doors close. You cannot just swing it shut you definitely have to push them closed.
