Ice maker broke after 3 years and MOLD

The ice maker broke after 3 years, got it fixed broke again 6 months later and deamed unrepairable because there was a problem with the internal mechanism. We learned to live without an ice maker. We recently took all the shelves and bins out to clean and discovered black mold coming from the fan area behind the bins and the water reservoir also had mold. It has to go. My last refrigerator was still ticking at 16 years old but I remodeled my kitchen and bought a new one. Really disappointed that this one didn't even make it 6 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love our new fridge! It is very spacious and has amazing room in the doors for everything. We also love that different areas can be temperature controlled.

Excellent Quality and Capacity for Small Space

I've always had a 25+ cu.ft fridge but needed a counter depth for our new home. I checked all brands but kept coming back to GE based on reviews/ratings and experience - we have a white 25 y/o GE in our 2nd home! I'm amazed at the quality and its capacity. The doors have deep &sturdy shelves. I love the adjustable glass shelves and the freezer can hold loads of food. The ice maker produces well and temp feature on the door is great It has handy pockets on the freezer drawer for bacon & small items. I read that folks liked that "food doesn't get lost" & that's so true & a great way to keep things fresh and minimize waste. Its size is the right fit for me and my husband plus our family that visits daily-- literally they visit the goodies in the fridge daily!! An added plus is it's easy to clean inside and the outer stainless is easy to keep clean and shiny, all it takes is a damp & dry paper towel- NO soap or stainless cleaners that tend to smudge the fridge forever. It even matches the older Monogram appliances in the house. I love this fridge!

Great Looking Refrigerator

We've only had it for a day, but it's a great looking fridge and keeps everything chilled perfectly. Everyone loves it. Hopefully we'll get many years of great performance out of it.

Beautiful & functional refrigerator

The refrigerator is very quiet. The placement of the shelving both in the doors, box and freezer make it easy to reach products. This is our first counter-depth refrigerator and we love the ease of accessibility to reach and locate the products. The ice maker is super. Excellent features.

We now have a GE after years of struggling with a Samsung refrigerator. The GE is a pleasant change that is for sure. I have only had it for a little while but I like the set up and door shelves and lighting. The water and ice taste good and works as it should yay!
