GE Profile PWE23KSDSS Refrigerator

Bought product 3 months ago and have 2 issues with unit already.1-- Exterior of freezer door builds condensation . Serviceman called GE direct and was told to replace door. Not been completed yet. 2--Refrigerator quit maintaining a constant temperature. First froze all of my food. Next temperature went to 46 degrees. Whatever you set the temperature to, the refrigerator automatically determines that is the temperature. Serviceman looked at and determined these units were having software issues along with needs to replace fan unit (According to him this is an ongoing issue. Not sure why GE would ship this product out without making the required fixes first??? The second issue has not been repaired yet either!! Can't use the refrigerator!!!!

Outrageously Loud!!

We have had numerous service calls on the loud whirring noise and it appears nothing can be done to correct this. We were told there had been a fan change from six blades to threes blades and that is why it's so noisy. The fan runs almost constantly approximately 30-45 minutes every hour. This can't be very energy efficient!

We bought this 2 weeks ago to replace our old one. We are so happy with the new design and how it looks/functions. It is roomy and has plenty of storage space in the fridge and freezer. Very happy with our product!

I like the refrigerator but it’s too noisy. I’ve never had one this noisy. I wouldn’t really recommend for that reason.

Terrible quality and design
on November 27, 2023

Horrible quality. Would not recommend this to anyone. The unit arrived with insulation coming out of the rear chill vent (fixed by GE). The rail system for the freezer drawer is a very poor design and thus the drawer is very wobbly. We had a tech out to replace the rails as the gears were not engaging the rails, but the tech indicated this was just designed this way. The whole drawer is wobbly. Also, the button for the water dispenser is not very user friendly since you have to reach fully into the refrigerator with both hands while holding the cup you are filling. For the price paid and the GE name, we would expect a much higher quality product.

Disappointed

I am currently waiting for my 2nd replacement (3rd unit). The first broke down and spoiled the entire freezer and refrigerator worth of food. The second one has a freezer door issue doesn't close correctly and leaks out the side.
Disappointed is an understatement.

Poor Cooling Performance
on May 18, 2025

Our refrigerator has not properly cooled since day 1. At first, we just thought it didn't feel as cool as it should be, so we slowly moved the setting down over a few weeks until it was eventually at the lowest setting of 34 degrees. Still unhappy with the cooling, we decided to install a bluetooth thermometer. It shows that it runs at an average of 40 degrees. We verified it with a second different bluetooth thermometer; same result, actual temp is around 40 degrees. WE then had a warranty visit and the service tech noticed it didn't feel very cool but his diagnostic tool said it was running great at 34 degrees. It wasn't, but he couldn't do anything since his tool told him it was fine. We later concluded that whatever sensor that tool relies on in the refrigerator must be defective. We've had numerous occurences of spikes to nearly 50 and one to 65 WITH THE DOOR CLOSED FOR HOURS. We need to schedule another service call but we are frustrated that the diagnostic tool will tell the tech it's fine again.
