Good purchase

I have had my unit for about 5 weeks, have printed just over 2 reams of paper, one jam. Nice machine for the price. Disapointed in the ink capacity. Starting on my 3 black cartdige.
Overall not bad.

Full Featured Unit

This Unit does everything I need it to do and it does the jobs well. No problem using the fax with a single phone line. The only negative, and it is a minor one, is that you have to remove the the blank paper stack to print an envelope. The separately colored ink cartriges are an asset and the display of the remaining ink in each is a really nice "heads up" feature. I have only been using the unit for a few months and so far have no regrets; long term seviceability remains to be discovered

I spent endless hours researching printers as I have had many different brands. I decided on Brother due to Consumer Reports and reading hundreds of reveiws. I have owned it for 2 months and am really enjoying the Brother. It is very Quiet, runs smoothily and does a great job on Photos. The Ink is a lot cheaper than most and it just does everything for a Home user.The installation went exactly as the CD stated. It also is a much more rugged construction than all others I researched. First Brother I have owned

This is the 2nd Brother I have owned...This machine exceeded my expectations and was so easy to set up to my network.. Really nice to have a printer that works so well with no hassle and for the price.

A True Bargain

The MFC-J825DW does everything you want it to do. Crisp fast printing in both black and white as well as color. A nice feature shows ink balances in the 3.3" touchscreen display. Easy to set up wireless or wired. I am so happy I chose this unit! This unit replaced my prior Brother MFC that lasted over twelve years so I have confidence in Brother and would recommend them to everyone. I do a lot of printing even though it is for peronal use.

OK for the price

I had to replace an old, broken HP printer. The price was right for this all-in-one even though I had no use for ther FAX component. It prints fine, nothing special. I'm not enamored with the photo tray. I'm used to having photo paper fed automatically but this unit requires that I set the feed manually before I print a picture. I can live with that inconvenience. The biggest drawback and the one that surprised me most was the software. I was used to a robust picture editor with HP and a smooth scanner control function. The software with the Brother is hard to use, not at all intuitive and generates errors under certain circumstances that are not easily remedied. The help instructions were difficult to follow. This was my biggest disappointment. But like I said, I didn't pay a lot for what I got so I should have expected it to not live up to the functionality of the more expensive all-in-one that it repalced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The features it provides are awesome for the price range. Also, the print quality is very good. Great option for versatility in a limited space.
