MFC - upgrade

I had to finally replace my previous MFC as it plain wore out! This one is great! My husband is finally happy that he has a remote printer! Kudos, Brother for catering to 'home office' people.

I was pleasantly surprised to be advised that I was eligible for a replacement for a MFC 790CW when the printer heads broke. Initially I was disappointed that the J825 did not have a message center component, but easily connected a wireless phone system (with answering function) and I was set. The J825 is doing just fine as printer, scanner, fax. The touch screen is smaller than the 790 model but is minimally acceptable. I continue to value and appreciate the tech assist from Brother's customer service operation. They have been extremely helpful over many years

Small & Convevient

Like the up front ink cartridges - you don't have to go on an internal treasure hunt to change. Scan is not as flexible as my previous Epson, specifically no preview, and changing settings is not at all obvious. Love the screen, and its' tilt angles - easy access to all options. Very satisfied overall.

Not the best printer

I have used Brother printers for a long time. I bought the MFC-J825DW about 6 weeks ago thinking it would work as well as the others I have had. It didn't, so I exchanged it for another J825, thinking I just got a bad one. It's the same as the first one was. Everything works great except when it is printing. After it has printed, what I wanted printed, it starts shooting out blank paper. Happens constantly. Even with that, I still like Brother printers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Complicated machine

This would probably be a good product if I could understand the directions better. For instance, the FAX directions are confusing, and I still haven't figured out how to use it for FAX.

Great Exchange

With the exception of a couple of exterior blemishes, my exchange printer is tops. I have absolutely no complaints on the way it prints, copies, etc. The touch screen feature is super as is the ability to print discs with your own covers. Yes, this exchange was good. I will stick with Brother from now on.

Great Machine

This is the second all in printer I purchased from Brother. The first one was the MFC420cn and I thought it was nice, but this MFC-J825DW puts that one to shame. The color on it matches the item that I'm printing 100% or scanning. I like the screen on it, but it could be just a little bigger, and ink could last a little longer. Other than that I really like this machine
