I have owned the LG42LV4400 LED for two months and it is with out of doubt the best picture I have seen. We are on cable and do not have an HD box, only what come with the basic cable. I do not think we need the HD box. I am very happy with the LG and would highly reccomend it to my friend.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Just what I wanted.

I have had this TV for 3 months now and it has per- formed exactly has it did on the show room floor. Great picture, ease of use, sharp colors, 120 hz. makes the tracking much better than my sons 60 hz.. He sometimes comes over when certain sporting events our on, especially tennis, because their is no jumping during quick motion The only problem I had for awhile, was that when the background was dark the set would dim, and brighten when the background was bright. This was solved with one quick E-Mail to customer service, by turning off the energy saver function that I wasn't aware existed or did not know it would have any effect on brightness.
Pros: Performance

LG TV Fails in a Year

I don't recommend buying an LG TV. It failed within 3 weeks of the year's warranty. When the repair man came to fix it, he was certain it was the main board. My husband told me it's the power supply because it wouldn't turn on (he's a quality assurance manager in electronics and is a power supply electronics engineer). I was told by the technician that the main board controls power. Strange that the first new board failed. The second one improved the overall picture and sound quality. However, after watching this TV for a few hours, it wouldn't turn on later in the evening. Again I had to request service. And, I was informed that a technician would not be available until four working days later. My daughter told me that her technician friend has two LG TV's; both failed for the original owners, and they are wealthy so they preferred to purchase another one. Uh, we are middle class people and we don't have the money to spare replacing items so quickly!
Pros: Performance, Quality, service

Bad News

We first bought a larger screen LG TV that didn't work from right out of the box. We returned it and chose the 42LV4400. It worked for 1 month and then had to be taken in to be repaired. The needed part won't be available for a while, so we are waiting to find out when we will get a replacement. Very disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i cant buy a new TV every year

for 363 days my 42 led was fine ,then it had a power failure,had to take it down from the wall drive 60 miles,to get it repaired,still waiting to get it back.this is not the product to buy,nor should you buy any of this companys products!

Don't waste your money!!!

My TV also had a power problem as other reviewers had said. I seldom watch TV, so probably I was the last person who recognized this TV had a power failure. I found this problem a couple of weeks ago. At first, I didn't think this TV had a power problem cuz I hadn't turned on TV for a long time. Instead, I thought the batteries died in the remote control. Although I changed the batteries and still TV didn't turned on. And then I finally realized it had a problem. The technician visited me and fixed it 3 days later after I called the service center. He fixed it promptly and was very nice. Anyway, I don't want to recommend this product to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Truely impressed with my 42inLG ,120 Hz,1080 p Edge-lit LED/LCD High Def TV. I have it mounted to the wall. Its performance is awesome, colors are so brite and vivid. No blurs of any kind so far. Bought my set back in Jan of 2012 and I am totally taken buy it. It does adjust to room light automatically,which is sooo neat. I do use it back and forth with and without the suround sound system I have mounted below the set..when I use the sound system its awesome , floor rumble etc oh yea... ready for football. Also great for family night with a great DVD. I did buy and use quality cables for the Blue ray player and sound system, not sure if this helps or not but I didnt want to have problems in the future so I went all out and had it hooked up properly from the get go to include the wall mount and hiding of the wires with that pvc cover you can buy at the local hard ware store.. then painted the cover to match the wall and presto almost invisable. In summary I love my LG flat screen, my first by the way and now looking into an LG fridge with french doors on top and drawer freezer below with no ice or water in the door thingy.. I dont care for that .. Germy to me. So heck yes I recommend this product 110 % all the way. Sit back and enjoy, cause thats what I do on the weekend with my limited free time.
