Giving up after 2 TV's!

I wish I had read these reviews before. We received this TV as a gift. The first TV lasted only 15 minutes before it stopped working. The 2nd TV lasted less than 2 months. Both times ended up with a black screen. Both times we had been watching a recorded on demand show. Don't know if there is any correlation or just coincidence. Either way, we are returning the non-functioning TV and will get a different one this time. I do not recommend this model. Don't waste your time like we have had to.

Low quality product.

I own this TV for only 16 months. We rarely use it and we got the common "power won't turn on" issue as many other customers had experienced. This looks like a very common failure if you google it. I won't buy any product from LG again.

The Audio is HORRIBLE
on November 28, 2011

I am not an audiophile nor an attention hound. The fact that I am taking time from my busy day to register for the LG website writing this review should tell you something about how awful the sound truly is on this television. There is no bass whatsoever, it sounds as if a normal television's sound is being piped through a tin can. To say that my 6-year-old has toys with better speakers would only be a SLIGHT exaggeration. . I suppose that if you already have a speaker system, you will be totally happy with the television as the picture is actually pretty nice. If you don't, well, let's just say you may want to factor in the cost of a speaker system when looking at the sticker price of this model. . On the plus side, in the future this purchase will ultimately save me time because I will no longer have to consider LG products when purchasing electronics...so I guess have that going for me?
Pros: easy to use

Just a little tweeking was all it took. Picture is great. A mother and daughter were able to get it together in no time and it pretty terrific. I was worried that a 42 inch might be too big but now I wonder what we were doing without it!

This is my first flat screen TV and after researching, this was the best TV that I found. The picture quality if good, the set up was easy. The sound quality could be better and will end up purchasing speakers or a theater system.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

I had read the reviews and I was concerned about the sound. The TV was easy to set up. There was no problem with the TV. I am looking forward to buying a larger LED next Xmas.

Good purchase

Good picture overall. Not worth buying unless you have HD or getting ready to upgrade. This tv really rocks if want to watch sports in HD. The 120hz is practically blur free. Easy to set up & easy to adjust. One needs to spend some time with the adjustments to flesh out the really great picture this unit can produce. Good value for this unit as compared with other costlier brands. Cons: Be prepared to run the audio through a sound bar or a separate surround sound/home theater system as the speakers on this unit are feeble at best. My purchase was with the intent of using a separate sound system so I was more concerned with the quality of the video vs the poor quality of the onboard speakers.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
