The WorkForce Pro Is A Quality Office Addition

Our company has just upgraded to the WorkForce Pro for our small office environment and found it very easy to set up, including adding it an existing wireless network. Have not been able to fault this unit, with it's 500+ sheet feeder, high quality document printing and surprisingly great photo printing. The ink system, although we've yet to replace them, is extremely good value compared with the competition after looking at a price comparison.
For small businesses / companies you can't go past the WorkForce Pro and should have it on your shopping list when the time comes to either replace or upgrade. Very satisfied.

Excellent work horse printer

I have just bought my second Epson Workforce Pro WD 4540. I bought the first one in April, 2012 about 18 months ago at the time of writing, for business use. It has served me admirably during this time, with pretty much everything just working fine with no problems at all. The ink lasts ages. I have only replaced the black cartridge twice and the others once. It rarely has paper jams, and when they do occur, they are easily accessed and fixed without issue (probably occurred about 5 times in 18 months). I would print on average 40 to 50 pages a day at work. It has no warm up time, so printing starts quickly, which for 1 page jobs is a blessing. The scanner is reliable and does dupplex 2 pass scanning reliably, if not quite as quickly as I would like, being about half to a third of the printing speed. Scanned images are good quality, though. Scanning is also faster if the dots per inch is lowered, although I prefer the better quality images, as I refer to them frequently as I run a 'paper free' office #ie no paper records#. The fax also works reliably. The only cons I have identified is that it takes ages to set up initially, so allow a good few hours for this, but once working it is fabulous. I would highly recommend it and hence I have bought it again for my home now that my home printer has died.

The unit has a good paper capacity, it has excellent and easy to use ability to scan documents to e-mail as well as PDF. A straightforward and easy to replace ink cartridge system as well as good running costs.
Its ability to print fast and do double side is also a bonus and saving on cost.

Extremely economical to run

This is my third Epson Workforce Pro WP-4540 printer. Our business is expanding and the other 2 that I have are working well with no issues thus far (bought the first one 21 months ago). Paper handling is good and quality of print output is fine for my uses (GP Practice). Its best point is that it is extremely economical to run. Cons: none so far.

happy with product

Chose product for it's wifi connectability.
installed easily, but the icon that comes up in printers and devices that looked like the obvious choice was the fax. If set as default printer, won't allow printing from a PC word or other document, which I found confusing. better tech help would be good!

The Epson 4540 is a great all-rounder it prints, scans, copies and faxes. Its excellent, it holds a ream of 500 sheets of A4 paper so no finding a place to put the left overs or filling up paper trays all the time. Photo quality I found to be good for a office machine on photo paper. I love the auto document feeder (adf) It's brilliant when copying or faxing. The ink that came with the printer I thought wouldn't last that long, but I was surprised how long they lasted I have 4 Kids giving this a work-out but not had to change the ink for the best part of a year. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Epson WP-4540 to anyone. I have got rid of my Photo printer which was costly to maintain and just use the wp-4540 it is the best printer for me. if you use it as a home printer the ink will last a long time. You will be happy.
