We needed a small microwave for a small space, and this fits perfectly ... but: very low power (takes a long time); not tall enough for many things (have to transfer contents to shorter vessels); extremely loud beeping that can't be turned off. It's so loud we try to be there in time to click "cancel" before it beeps ... three times ... very, very loudly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Right out of the box, not working. Water: cold. Noodles: cold, 4,5,30 minutes still cold. Waste of money.

Worked less than a year

We rarely use a microwave so we only needed a small one. Loved the look of this, and it was functional for the first 10 months or so. Now, it arcs every time the glass turntable is inside. I have tried to clean the glass but it did not fix the problem. Glass should not cause the microwave to arc.

Don't let the small size fool you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a very small kitchen. The Whirlpool 0.5 cu ft microwave is perfect for my needs. It has a unique rounded back and controls on the bottom of the unit - instead of the side - which means it takes up far less counter space.The control panel is intuitive and very easy to use. I was afraid it wouldn't heat well, but it does a better job than my larger microwave. It is small, but I can easily fit a dinner plate inside. The most difference is vertical space. There is plenty of room for a large coffee mug, but probably not enough headroom for a tall bowl. Overall, a great purchase!

It is large enough to hold a dinner plate, has enough power for most needs, and enough features to do everyday tasks. The appearance is unobtrusive. So far, so good.
