Worked Well Until …Flames

We have this product made in 2016. It has been working well. We were happy. Today with a small plate of nacho chips with shredded cheese on top with wax paper covering was inside and microwave was programmed for 1 minute. Within several seconds we heard pop, pop and saw flames in the side of the microwave then a hole blew out of the metal plate on the wall. Stopped the microwave and pulled the plug. Sitting in the garage on the floor.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I loved it initially but then a fire started

I've had this microwave since 2019 and within the last month it started sparking inside when it is in use. I don't know why - Maybe just old? I don't know but it is the only microwave that fits in my pantry so I will have to buy another... what is the lifespan on these?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Splatter guard problem

I love this microwave..but the splatter guard began arcing after a few years. I was able to replace the guard and get a little more use out of the unit. It failed again, same arcing problem, so I bought another unit, same unique design. It developed the same problem, arcing at the splatter guard. Is this a design flaw? Never had this with other microwaves...

This sucks

First time using it and it will not heat anything. I spent an hour trying to cook something and nothing it might as well have not been on. So I tried heating up a single slice of cheese. After 3 minutes still cold.

Great size!

I bought this microwave back in February 2014 and it has worked great for my needs. No problems at all until recently. Now I have to keep it unplugged when not in use because it will just randomly turn itself on and run up the timer to 30 minutes! And the only way to get it to stop is to pull the plug. I will recommend with reservations because it served me well for 7 years but now has become a hazard.
I would recommend this to a friend!
