Great for limited counter space!

My son gifted me the microwave as a Mother’s Day surprise. Love it, but I am curious about the “roaring “ noise it emits when first turned on. The noise subsides somewhat after a few seconds. Still some noise, but I believe that is the “normal” sound a motor would make. Otherwise the appliance seems to work fine. Called the distributor, and they recommended I call Whirlpool. Tried but couldn’t reach a human! Any comments?

A Unique Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model puts the electronics under the turntable rather than next to it. This saves counter space. The round back works well for corner placement. Why does Whirlpool not promote this unique design?

Fantastic little microwave!

We've had this now for several weeks and I just LOVE IT! It replaced a huge 1300 watt that sat above my stove on a shelf. I now how my little microwave on the counter where it should be. I have a very small kitchen and limited counter space and the size is just perfect. I was a little concerned that it might be too small but that hasn't been the case at all. Who needs a huge microwave anyway? Even the wattage difference is better. Our old microwave would explode everything unless you powered it down. And speaking of... this has a wonderful reheat feature. You hit the reheat button (automatically changes to 75% power) and then the start/30 second button as many times as you need. It's just so easy to use. We have done standard size popcorn in it (the bag doesn't start to turn right away on the turntable until it starts to pop and expand) and it came out beautifully. Does baked potatoes much better than our old one! Just 3 little beeps when it's done. Everyone who sees this microwave, loves the look of it. They sometimes think it's a TV set. Fantastic design! Thank you, Whirlpool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took a chance because I didn't bother going to a store to see this in person. So glad I did! Cutest microwave ever AND my super-sized 11+in dinner plates fit (and spin). I have an ultra small 8x8 galley kitchen and since counter space is so limited, I was all set out to have an already purchased over the range microwave installed. At the last minute I thankfully realized that I really didn't want that arrangement, since all too many times I'd pull something super hot out of a microwave and have to fling it on the counter. So, I returned that and purchased this. Best yet, it fits perfectly on the tiny counter next to my stove which was kind of useless otherwise. My only complaint is that there is no mute button for the loud beeps. I live in a condo and wouldn't think of using it early in the morning because of this. If they ever come out with a new model with that feature, I'll be the first in line.

Love it, except the light went out in 2 days.

I love it, and so do my neighbors. But the light went out only after 2 days. My friend bought one, I hope his light does not go out. Great little Microwave though. Perfect for my small apartment

Perfect size for countertops

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a microwave that wouldn't take up too much space. It fits into the corner of our counter well and frees up more room that our other microwave gobbled up. Lower power but smaller space to heat, so it works just as well. It is taller than most because the mechanical and heating parts are all underneath. But not enough to warrant taking away a star.
One quibble is that the dish does not sit as flush to the bottom of the heating area. I have hit mugs on the dish when placing them inside. Also the height of the heating area is small. Still can fit a tall mug or a casserole dish with lid.
I have been pleased so far.

Perfect for small spaces

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently did a full kitchen remodel and got rid of a large over-the-stove microwave, replaced by a convection steam oven. However, my husband wanted to be able to reheat a plate of food quickly, so I gave in to his microwave request, provided it would take up a minimum of counter space. This unit fit the bill perfectly. No local retailer seemed to carry it, but I did some on-line hunting and found an appliance store that could get it for us within a couple of weeks. It does what it needs to do and I would definitely recommend it where space is at a premium. (When people see it on the counter, they ask if it’s a tv!)

Smallest footprint but still fits my needs!

Our new microwave arrived today and I already love it! I purchased it because my previous microwave took up too much precious counter space. This one takes up less than half the space. Fit and finish are very nice. There is no keyboard so you use a plus or minus button to add or decrease seconds, in five second increments. This is just fine. It fits my tall coffee cup and my large dinner plates. It heated up my frozen tamale perfectly in the amount of time stated on the packaging. I do wish the front of it was white on this “White” model, which is the reason I gave four stars for design.
