Near-perfect convection/microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a GE convection/microwave for at least 15 years and loved it, but it was time to upgrade, so we replaced it with this one. We're very happy with it.
Only a single caveat -- the old model had a slightly longer electrical cord. The new one's cord is maybe 2 inches shorter and so we had to do some drilling and electrical work to get the plug close enough.
Otherwise, it's beautiful (at least in black), it works well, has plenty of controls and adjustments, and performs perfectly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love this microwave.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought it to replace a 12 yr old microwave - door handle came off and no replacement handle was available - Too bad, the l2 yr old model looked like new and worked beautifully. This replacement has a lighter door and is easier to open - we are wondering if our older model had a flaw or if they've improved the door system since then... The programming features are easy. Fast bake is convenient - pork chops are delicious. Bacon, scrambled eggs, corn on cob - never better than in the microwave. We use this product every day, several times a day. It is easy to clean and if it is anything like our old one; it'll look like new after 12 plus years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Different than what you may be used to

Although this product takes a little time to get used to, it does perform well. The controls are different than anything I have used before, but once you master the controls this unit performs as advertised. The oven feature is not as good as a regular oven, but it will work as needed for an additional oven. It seems to run about 50 degrees cool. I bought the 110 volt version. If I had it to do over I would pay the extra for the 220 version.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT ANOTHER MICROWAVE OVEN SINCE THE FIRST EXACT ONE FAILED AFTER 3YEARS. ASK ME WHY I PURCHASED THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL- I DIDN'T WANT TO REDO THE HOLES IN MY EXPENSIVE CABINET AND HAVE TO RE ALIGN ALL THE WIRES. SO I HOPE GE IS LISTENING AND A LEAST GIVES ME SOME CREDIT FOR BEING A RETURN CUSTOMER.

I am so happy I bought this oven I thought it was too big at first but I use it everyday as an oven and a microwave to it was the best choice I could have ever made when buying a microwave.

GE Convection Microwave

Very disappointed in the product. It did not last 5 years. I had it serviced by GE. They told us not to bother fixing it again. The repair lasted 2 months...then we had to purchase a new microwave.

I have had this microwave since 2012, purchased along with all new kitchen appliances.
1- It is now starting to malfunction (fan stays on when the door is open)
2-No backlight on the display panel...so hard to see, it drives you nuts.
3- Display panel scratches way too easy and look worn quickly.
