Got the Classic As My Spare Phone

No doubt about it the BlackBerry is a legend. But with that said, I still say they shouldn't have fixed what was not broken. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 wasn't broken whatsoever - I would love to have that design back. Nevertheless, the Classic is an okay cell to have as a spare in lieu of my iPhone because I sometimes hate that touchscreen mess but love the physical keyboard on the BlackBerry, which makes for faster texting and emailing.

Stop deleting reviews on this phone

The design by itself is enough to warrant shopping elsewhere come upgrade time. A single, flimsy power button at the top of the phone is all that is needed to initiate pocket-dialing. The BB holster is compatible (very snug :) ), but you will at least initiate the BB Assistant every time it's unholstered. The hardware keyboard is not as bad as it appears in pictures, but dust and pocket lint can and will accumulate between the keys. Not recommended for anyone already accustomed to touchscreen keypads. The entire phone itself is glued together; which pretty much implies it's a throw-away (as in, if hardware fails, then you might as well upgrade or purchase another). The phone is prone to overheating on the charger and in the glove-box. Keep this one with you at all times out of the sun and away from excessive dust.
Features? Um, the app store is a joke. Even the shoddy$5 games are borderline malware. Some Amazon Fire apps are compatible, but beware just the same. The perennial BB user or the all-business consumer will be set with the proprietary apps and integrated Hub. Your average user, however, will suffocate (there's not even a decent ereader available). The apps that are available are sluggish and their UI is severely limited.
Performance: SLOW. Has the budget SnapDragon; need I say more? Many apps (e.g. Reminder, Calendar, even the Hub) are extremely sluggish (requiring more than 7 seconds to boot). I haven't performed any tests on the wireless card (what am I going to use, BB's own app lol), but I never had a problem connecting to (and keeping a connection to) any router or Bluetooth device.

Visual voicemail vs normal voicemail
on January 1, 2016

I ended up in the hospital because visual voicemail was impossible for me to get with just mobile network or wifi. 6 days after calling my dr. repeatedly and I had to turn data on at the hospital. Magically 6 returned calls that I could not see or hear until I was paying for data popped up. I regret thinking this was comparable to my blackberry pearl/curve from years past.

Needs some work

This phone feels solid in the hand but has issues.
Text box jumps up and down.
Videos don't always show up when you click on the link.
How's you can install a good call blocker but other than that it's a text writers nightmare if you type fast like me.
Battery life is a joke too!
Good luck.
