Great mini WiFI enabled Device

I've used this for a couple of months and am finding more uses for it all the time. There are many apps that work on this device available from multiple app stores.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Excellent media player with all the bells and whistles. Samsung has done it again. Excellent portability, large screen! Easy to use and customize right out of the box. Needs a few accessories!

I'm a news nut, and a music lover. The Galaxy Player allows me to read all my favorite newspapers and websites on a bright, sharp and awesome 5 inch display. I can watch videos, download books, podcasts, magazines, virtually anything. I'm able to hold it in one hand; it's the perfect size tablet to take anywhere around the house, to work, on the train or plane, or on vacation. It will easily fit in my pocket. Music sounds amazing through the included earbuds or using the built-in stereo speakers. I added a micro SD card, so I can take more tunes with me. I've had it for over a month, and I still can't put it down, as I find more and more places that have wi-fi. My wife wishes I held her hand as much as I hold the Samsung Galaxy Player 5. I can only imagine what they may think of next...

After 3 months of use I can say this little device is truly awesome! I love the size; perfect for putting in my purse yet big enough to provide a great reading screen that doesn't frustrate you with too little text on a page, fun to surf the internet ANYWHERE (with WiFi) or just in bed at night, backlit screen so I don't disturb my husband using it at night, carries all my audiobooks, ebooks, AND music. A perfect median between the iTouch and the larger Tablets that are just too big to practically carry around. You can even make calls on it, though I haven't explored that possibility---a bit too big for that in my opinion. This little guy will do what the big tablets do but in a size that is much more mobile-friendly.
The only problem I have had is with the earplug jack. The connection was TERRIBLE, so I had to send it in for repair. The repaired jack is better, but still a bit tricky. That is very disappointing because I absolutely LOVE this device, otherwise. I think there may be a design problem with the earplug jack since I am one among others who have also had this problem. I was expecting the replacement jack to be a redesigned one without the "touchiness" of the first one. Though better, it is not as bug-free as it should be.

my brother got an ipod a few months before and when he saw me playing the samsung he asked my mom to get him one

First off I was trying to pick between this galaxy player and an ipod touch. At first sight i knew this would be an outstanding media player. The audio/video quality is amazing. It seems bulky and heavy when looking at it, but often i forget about it when its in my pocket (and yes it has fit in ever pocket that i have tried putting it into). Playing games, listening to music, watching videos, etc... by far out rates my friends ipod touch. The best thing about it is the LONG battery life, no im not being sarcastic. I was able to play games, watch videos and listen to music for a solid 3 days without charging it, and it still had i think 25% left. The only thing i wish different about it is that the battery was removable, but im happy the way it is. Im able to take my galaxy into restaurants, stores, and other places where my brother has to leave his tablet in the car because its too bulky.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, front & back cameras, big display, long lasting battery

I bought one for me and one for my wife. So far, we love all the features this thing provides. It's been proven helpful in so many ways in just a couple of weeks. I never liked combining phone with multifunction, I find it that i goes obsolete in a year or so. Rather like utilizing this for pics, songs, vid, and on some occasion use the wifi. Thank your for the nice product.

Cons: Too big, small power/sleep button

I love this thing. i bought this because my ipod touch 4th generation ran out of room (8gb). i know this is the same size, but it has the micro sd card expansion, which i love. it is so much bigger than my ipod (just the lcd screen itself is as big as my ipod). i love that it can do everything that the ipod can do, and then some (like the built in FM radio that comes with it). the camera just destroys the ipod touches camera, with 3.2 mega pixels, while the ipod has barely 0.7 megapixels. this really is an amazing item, i would definitely buy it
