I recently purchased the Galaxy Player 5.0 and I am in love with it. I have never owned a player so functional and fast. Love the design as well very simple and key placement is perfect.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, camera quality

The Samsung Galaxy Player is a brilliant little machine. It is perfect for reading, listening to audiobooks and music - as well as keeping up with email throughout the day. This is a great value, absolutely perfect for my needs.

I love this media player, I love the features and the ease of use. I wish the bass was deeper and I wish the 5.1 option was available as well.
The 5 inch screen is a blast to peruse, you can see and read everything, I also like the fact that this is the Galaxy Note without the phone (well that plus the Note is a little bigger).

I liked Samsung galaxy player 5.0. It works like a small computer on the move for me. I could check my e-mails and posted photos into my Facebook wherever I found Wi-fi during my trips. However, some of the features could be better such as camera and speed of processor (1 MHz currently). The camera is slow and lags while taking pictures and resolution could be higher like 8 Mpx. The processor could be upgraded 1,5 MHz to give more juice to player for video games and movies. However, I still loved its user friendly features even though there is an initial learning curve for the use of the player and Android OS. Overall, I liked my player and strongly recommend it to the person who is looking for alternative to the other players out there.

Cons: better camera features such as zooming

The product has great features but missing a few items

I love this product very much. i do believe samsung was making a great decision throwing a player out there at this time. My griefs about it are that it is missing a search button. some games do require that to continue on. I also believe that samsung could have increased the performance by at least making it a dual core. it may have costed a bit more, but not as much as an ipod. one other main problem is the ability to update. i've noticed the other players out now have the ability to update. it is possible that they have taken this into account, hopefully. bottom line is that this definitely beats apple by allowing a free operating system instead of the same old mac interface. lasts a tremendously long time and the micro sd slot helps give this a huge advantage on the market. i would recommend this to anyone that is looking to drift away from the usual apple and on to the future.

Cons: no updating, no search key, lacks performance

Bulky but nice product!

Its not an expensive device, great for online gaming, social networking and for music thanks to the microSD slot, my device was so good but I noticed a problem with the qwerty keyboard (landscape and portrait mode), tricky keyboard that sometimes turns on the numeric and symbols by itself, the unit was repaired by Samsung USA, hope that is not a problem of all Galaxy Player devices. It will deserve the 5 stars if an upgrade to ICS will came for it.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Too big, tricky keyboard

Did quite a bit of researching before picking up this guy. I was looking for an mp3 player that did a little (or a lot) more than just play music.
Had it narrowed down to this or the new ipod touch 5. Sure the new ipod has some ups on this (better cameras, faster, more accessories, blah, blah, blah) but it also has an extra Benjamin on the price tag compared to the Galaxy.
I've owned it for almost a month now, and use it quite literally every day. It's basically my smartphone that isn't really a phone. Helps me stay organized and on track with to-do's, connected with emails, facebook, etc; distracted with games and other apps; not lost with the gps.
All in all it's a great buy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a player that does it all.

Cons: not a lot of options for accessories
