I have had my focus for a year now and have never regretted getting it. I bought a rubber case for it when I got it and it still looks brand new. With that as with most phones, I'd recommend getting a rubber case for it. Not plastic, RUBBER. You will not regret it and because it's already so thin, it doesn't add too much bulk.
I enjoy everything about my Focus, especially the fact that I was able to receive it through my phone insurance was even better.
I kind of wish I waited for the new Focus, but I think this model will still be sufficient for a year or two.
WP7 is still young, and with that comes bugs and inefficiencies, but the Focus really shows off the abilities of the platform excellently.
The camera works well for a 5 MP, and the screen is probably the best I've seen with its 720p Super AMOLED display. And the connectivity to sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. is handled very smoothly by the 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor.
The only problem I have so far is the battery consumption. There are settings to mess with that will help, as well as a more than double-sized battery replacement. I think the biggest updates needed on the next model maybe in power efficiency.
Good phone with an awesome screen. I bought this phone because it was the best rated WP7 phone and it did not disappoint. I had to go back and buy another one for my wife.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive

it would have been a great phone if it had adobe flash player install so we can play facebook games. But i love my phone. one more thing fix the bug when you charge the phone, turn power off and it turns on by it self fix it thankyou.
I have been using this phone for almost 10 months, went from original WinPho 7 through NoDo, and now with 7.5 Mango. It has been amazing. In the last 10 months, it became unresponsive only about 3 times - the interface is very fluid, apps run very smoothly, screen is very amazing. The battery lasts 1 to 2 days, depending on the amount of use. I dropped it twice already in its silicone case and it still looks like brand new! With an additional 8 GB micro-SD, I have enough storage for many apps, tons of pics, and a dozen of HD videos. I would recommend this product with no reservations! It has been the most awesome experience, both with hardware and software.
Needs more Memory or compatible memory cards, DNLA feature would be good.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def
I would recommend this to a friend!

This appears to be built on the same platform as the Galaxy S - which may be the best Android phone at the time it was released. Therein lies the disappointment - Windows Phone. The OS and UI is relatively simple to use, but the app market has much to be desired. (Since this review is about the platform, I'll just leave this at . . . ) If you are satisfied with the Windows Phone 7 market or have a business or technical requirement for this platform, then the Samsung Focus is a best bet for you. The Super AMOLED display is amazing, the performance is swift, and even the GPS performance is acceptable. Updating the device is strictly a ‘tethered to Zune’ on a PC operation (no OTA), but apps are accessible over the air. The latest updates are worth it, so you will need Zune.
