I really like my windows phone, but I do not at all like that we cannot download personalized ringtones. I have tried many ways including those the carrier suggested. They do not work. It is a real draw back for me.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, has good signal in most places
Cons: Too big, no personalized ringtones downloadable
I would recommend this to a friend!

sensitive, tricky keyboard. not for ladies w/nails

I've had this for a week. I'm still trying to get used to it. It's tough to type on the keyboard. I have nails....not real long, but really, any amount of fingernails will hinder your typing ability. It's also SOOOO sensitive. Sometimes I just pass over a key and it types it. Landscape isn't available on a lot of functions. The BING search comes up a lot because of my thumb/palm getting near it. I don't like that you can't download any other apps. My son's phone can download different keyboards (maybe larger keys). That would be nice. I absolute hated all the ring-tones. Did they ever hear of a 'phone ringing' ringtone instead of those goofy songs? I also wanted a big digital clock on the front like some I've seen. The tutorial was the worst!!! There are no pictures. They just assume you know what all the buttons are they refer to. Several instructions were just wrong, and they didn't explain so many items that the phone can do. Useless. I have to go into the store to get tutored. I do like the colors and you can change the theme and backgrounds...although there are things more important I wish it had. Supposedly you can find the lost phone via the PC and it has voice commands, but I can't find the instructions how to do these. I like the tiles, they're nice and big and I can touch them - even with nails. I really like the 5MP camera with flash. I had a different phone for 3 days, but it was SO big and heavy that I got tired holding it for long....so I switched to the Focus. I still wish this was smaller. I'm a petite woman and my fingers barely go around it. One last thing - the phone is not comfortable on the ear. You have to hold it tight to get clear voice reception and the edges hurt. Jury's still out....I have 3 more weeks to return it and find something I can type better on. Might need a slideout keyboard but need a decent camera and prefer having a flash.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, flash camera, big tiles on start screen
Cons: apps ringtones not great, tutorial not helpful, wish it was a little smaller, touch screen too sensitive, keyboard too small, not comfortable on the ear

But win phone 7 has no full back up feature and adding or removing "special" microSDHC cards is painfully tedious. Otherwise, pretty good phone overall.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: no backup feature, slow software/firmware updates
I would recommend this to a friend!

The OLED screen makes it
on July 20, 2011

Without the rich, Super AMOLED, this phone would be terrifically average. The plastic feels cheap, though it is lightweight, and the performance is average. The logic behind the design decisions made to force the SSD chips to integrate with the internal memory eludes me. With only 8 Gb of internal memory, that is a hard sell.
Despite this, the screen constantly impresses, and the responsiveness of the touch interface is truly remarkable. I have enjoyed this phone, and I hope to see WP7 take off a bit more, as the platform continues to offer a sparse variety in even mainstream markets.
If you want your own ring tone DON'T get this phone. You can create you own ring tones with a cheat prepaid phone, not with this. 1. Can't create your own ringtone 2. Can't hear the phone ring. 3. Can't close a website easily. 4. Have to reset camera setting everytime your leave/comeback to it. ei. anti-shake (but it workers good when it's on.)
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, camera quality's great
Cons: Too big, can't create ringtones
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I absolutely love my phone, the interface, and Windows Phone 7. The only problem I had is that I dropped it, and the volume rocker is now broken. Whatever. I still love it enough to get it fixed. :)
