Really Nice!

Despite all the negative press on WP7, the Focus is in my opinion, one of the best of the WP7 phones out at the moment. Large crisp display, very responsive, sound quality is pretty good and the phone has 8gigs of built in memory with the ability to add a 16gig Sandisk micro SD card. Yes, you can put u p to 32gigs but, 16gigs is the only micro SD size that has been proven to work without any issues. Other people have reported being able to use the 32 gig cards without issues but, MS and Samsung recommend that you don't. I've had this phone for the last two months and I haven't had any issues with the 16gig micro SD or the phone itself. Unless you're a person that loads their phones down with tons of video, you should be fine with the 20-21gigs of memory. If you decide to buy this phone, buy a good case and screen protector. Case-Mate and Zagg Protectors work well.

Cons: battery life could be better

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely love it. Went from an iPhone 3g to this, and it is faster and more efficient. Much brighter display also.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight

First smart phone

Overall happy with this phone. Battery life and call quality are good. Worked well in Germany when I was there. The only problem I've had is my Outlook mail account locks up every Thursday and I have to re-enter the account info to get it to work again. Haven't determined if that's a phone problem or the server.
Easy to navigate, upload photos to facebook, etc. Not happy with the inability to add ringtones - I hope Samsung fixes that soon.

My First Windows Phone

This phone has been absolutely excellent. If it was getting the updates a bit quicker then I would say it's a must have for anyone looking for variety out of the iOS. If you're a fan of Microsoft and Windows and you don't have a smart phone yet, then this is the one for you.

Samsung Focus-review after 2 weeks

Whenever you get something new it is usually the best thing in the world until you've had for a while. So I decided to review this after the "new" had worn off and I'm left with the list of things I like and use and the list of "where is that?"
I'll start with the things I like and use. The screen is great, very bright and vivid and responsive. The camera is great for a cellphone camera (I think it's better than my first 2 or 3 digital cameras). I like the voice search function (hold the home key and then speak what you're looking for). This has been very handy with addresses and finding things on the map. The phone is very light and slimline. I've not had any issues with the phone performing slow when switching between apps like I did with my last phone (different manufacturer). I also love the Zune software on the phone!! I am a Zune pass subscriber and this works great.
Now for the "cons" of the phone. I don't know if these are really cons of the phone or the OS of the phone. First off there are just not as many free apps running around as there are for the two other smartphone OS's. This may be something that will get better with time. There are no customizable ring tones! I'd like to play a clip from my favorite MP3 or WMA as a ringtone, but it isn't available. A big issue for WiFi users could also be that you can't connect to a hidden netowrk (a WiFi that does not broadcast its SSID). I had my home router set that way and had to change it, but I can't use my work WiFi because it's hidden. A backup feature would be great! When I installed my memory card (also a con that there aren't any "certified" cards available and you can't find any information about them) I had to do a hard reset, which wipes the phone. A restore function would have been great.
Overall, I like the phone. I'm hoping that most of the cons will be fixed with OS updates (and fixed soon). If I had it to do over again, I'd research a couple other phones a little more before buying this one.

Great Phone

Using now for about a week and impressed over quick ability to navigate this phone. Substantial APS available for most folks. Overall quality is excellent.
