I love the phone itself, but wish I would have went with the Captivate instead of this phone strictly for the OS. Samsung continues to be the leader in cell phone technology overall.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Focus is easy to use

Getting up and running with the Focus was simple as 1,2,3. I enjoy the ease of navigating the different areas on the phone, opening & closing programs... downloading programs. I have noticed that when the touch screen is either somewhat cold or warm it can be difficult to get a good response to my touch on the screen. Example, when unlocking phone it is difficult to slide number screen into place to enter password or to slide start menu up and down to open a program or to even open a program. This could be problematic when needing to use the phone in an emergency as in no being able to dial. Other that I have and continue to enjoy the Focus.
I switched from the iPhone 4 to this phone and I am extremely happy with my decision. Despite the buzz going around, this phone really is very close to on par with the iPhone and Androids, having used it for several months it feels almost exactly the same in features and daily use.
I believe with the next two updates the OS will be right up there with its competition, if not slightly surpassing them. Could definitely use more frequent updates.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Samsung Focus

Upon receiving my Focus, I was excited. Got a bit disappointed when I had a difficult time answering and making calls. Once I got the hang of it I fell in love. Then about a week later I noticed a hairline crack. I could barely see it. So I don't know if it came that way or not. Now from that hairline crack, 2 more cracks have emerged! I'm afraid it has the windshield effect! I have had Samsung Phones for years but this is the very first time I have had a problem of this magnitude. I love the design and the programs and apps for this phone. I would really like to be able to view flash enabled websites. I would also like to customize my own ringtones. And the fact that I can not send video is annoying to say the least. Once I powered my phone off entering church. During the service, it powered itself back on! I didn't like that. However, my 2 year old grandson has no problem with the Focus. He operates it as if he designed it himself.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, plentiful apps and games
Cons: no flash sites, cannot send video, no customizable ringtones, no voice recorder
Masque of Silence performing to Joy, Joy by David Phelps This video was taken in the dark with my Samsung Focus and a spotlight.

im not happy

i love the phone....the way it is comfortable to hold on to and it is very comfortable for calls
however.....it is the most user unfriendly thing i have ever used. it didn't have a very good manual. it's sensitivity is off balance. it is supposed to use wifi over your paid data when both are available and it does not. it does not pick up wifi like "other phones," my husband and i can sit in the same place at the same time with the same wifi and he gets a good strong connection and i dont. i like the sms and mms feature of texting and this phone does not have it. you have to go jump through hoops to send a pic or retrieve a message such as a forward that has any kind of media with it. I opened a tab in office and wanted to see what it was like so i pushed "new" and it opened a page that i cannot delete so i have a blank document page on my screen. I don't get any of my pics or attachments through gmail.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to handle or hang on to
Cons: too many bugs in system
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The speed of the phone is great and it has an amazing display. I switched from my iPhone 3G and I like the looks better the larger display and the button set up.
