Not easy to use.

All of the “Smart Phones” I have owned in the past have had some sort of “Sync” software included with them. The Windows Phone SGH-I917 requires you to set up special software to sync your calendar with Hotmail and then you can set the phone to go online and sync there also. There is no easy way to plug the phone into your computer and transfer data from Outlook on your computer directly to the phone.
Microsoft is too hung up on the “Cloud”. My old Nokia Phone syncs easily with Microsoft’s software installed on my computer. How come Microsoft’s “Windows” phone doesn’t do the same? It’s a pain to set this stuff up even for someone like me who is good with computers. I hate to think what is going on with those less familiar with software and computers.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, not easy to set up.

2 1/2 months and still no Windows Live Email

I have been working with Zune support for 2 months now and they have been unable to get the Windows Live account email working thus far. If you like to hang around in the evening waiting for a call that may or may not come from your Zune support rep and spend an hour or an hour and a half erasing everything you have painfully loaded onto your phone, then this is the phone for you. I got it so I could build some applications for it, but by the time Zune gets it working everyone who has one will probably have traded it for iPhone.
Well I am limited on what I can say about this phone.....so I'll just say......dont buy. There are way better phones out there!
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, very limited "smart" phone
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Windows Phone 7 Sux!!!

This website will not let me write a usefull review because I can't mention the names of any other companies or websites. I like Samsung, and I have many of their products and am very pleased with them. I dont' think there is any real problem with this phone hardware wise but the operating system this phone runs on is absolute GARBAGE! If you are interested in a phone for more than simply phone calls (which most smartphone users are) I would stay away from any phone from any manufacturer using this operating system.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: operating system is horrible!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Windows Phone 7 OS not ready yet

This is probably a good phone but bundled with the new Windows Phone 7 OS makes it a very poor choice for anything more than reading emails, web surfing or making calls. Outlook Sync is only available through Live ID, PC sync requires ZUNE, cannot tether as in earlier versions of OS, cannot sort files etc (no file manager). There is a LOT of extra work to be done to get this phone talking to your existing settings. Requires a special memeory card for SD expansion
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor operating system
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Hate It!!!

After just one week, I hate this phone. I've tried to download several apps, but every time I've received a message that the phone does not currently support the app. When I try to check Facebook, the buttons to send me to my home or profile, etc. are non-responsive. I get just a blank screen with a Facebook header. The touch screen is way too touchy. It won't interface with my PC. My PC can't find a driver and tells me to go to the manufacturer's website, so I did, but no driver. I had a Samsung phone before this one and I hated that one, too. I should have learned. I am so upset that I am stuck with this phone for two years. Go a different route.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, touch screen too sensitive
