The phone is good with some things, I'm having a lot of trouble with this phone. I randomly have no service for no reason, I dislike that you cant customize the ringtone, and I'm having a terrible time trying to update my phone. The apps are ok, but I wish they had more apps like IPhone or Android phones.
Mine just died on me after less than a year. It starts to power on, then just goes blank. If I'm gonna pay money for a product, I'd like for it to at least last a little while longer. . .
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product is great for people starting out with smartphones. It is easy to use and had great features that even savvy smartphone users can enjoy. It comes with microsoft office and has a good batter life. If you lose your phone you can locate, lock and leave a message on the phone. If you do lose it completely, you can get all your contacts on a new phone by logging in to your hotmail account on your phone in the store and have all your contacts before you even leave the store. You do not have to sync it to get the contacts.....very cool feature!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mediocre product

There are several technical and usability issues with this product which I can't believe hasn't gotten people fired at Samsung.
Cons:
1. Placement of power button is horrible! You will accidentally press it every time you handle the phone.
2. Same goes with camera button
3. Power cord connection is on the top of the phone - impossible to use when charging without cables going over
4. Extremely short battery life
5. Charges extremely slow
6. The touch buttons at the bottom don't light up until you touch them. It means you have to guess in the dark
7. Sometimes speaker at the back of the phone stops and uses the speaker for the ear
8. Camera is horrible. Problem is the OS. Doesn't retain settings or take good pictures
9. OS needs a LOT of work. The next 4 updates will not even bring it close to par with the iPhone. OS features are sub-par.
10. The connection for power is a mini-usb which is generally hard to connect and eventually damages the hardware.
11. Lot of driver issues. Touch has issues
12. Compass seems to require calibration quite often.
13. Keyboard cannot be calibrated.
14. Placement of the speaker is on the back which means you can't leave the phone down as the sound during speaker conversations is blocked and usually the other end hears a weird echo. Also, ringer sound will be lower if placed on the bed.
15. Doesn't have good cases
16. No camera in the front
Pros:
1. Starts up fairly fast compared to iPhone
2. Shuts down fairly fast compared to iPhone
3. Screen is nice as well as display
4. Ability to add Mini SD card
5. Replaceable battery
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, placement of power button, placement of camera button, placement of power connection on top, short battery life, touch buttons not lit by default, charges extremely slow, speaker at back stops working sometimes, camera is ok, placement of speaker in the back, mini-usb power plug usually damages
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Focus

So far i have had my focus for almost a month and have had more problems with it than any phone i have ever owned, 16 years of having cell phones. You can't change the background, ringtones, message tones or alert tones. If you don't need Microsoft Office there isn't a lot of stuff you can do with the phone. So far i have had to get tech support twice because I haven't been able to access the marketplace, and from what i can tell you HAVE to plug in to your computer to get updates. No other phone seems to need to be plugged in for updates. Just isn't a lot of options for the average person to do with this phone. Also have a huge problem with reception in my house.
This phone out of nowhere turned off by itself and when I tried to turn it back on it would not go pass "samsung" screen...I had to get a new one and until this day have not fixed it.
