Awesome phone, with Windows Mango update

This phone is very light for its size, but at the same time durable. I must have dropped it on stone floors from a length of 4-5 feet a couple of times(accidentally). There is absolutely no sign of any damage. With the windows Mango update , it has Siri-like features that are very good in recognizing my voice.

The Samsung SGH-i917 (AT&T Focus) is one of the greatest handsets made today. The screen alone makes the device stand out from all others. Mixed with light weight and blazing performance it is hard to find another that matches it.

Would not ever recommend to anyone, even my worst enemy

From the outside the phone looks nice. The camera is very clear, and the display is large and produces crisp clear images. However once you turn the phone on you realize exactly how horrid it is. First of all the user interface is overly complex, and restricts what you can do with the phone. For example When sending out a group text message you have to search for and enter each individual contact (up to the 10 contact limit), separately. Furthermore anytime you update the device it clears the memory, so you lose everything. All your pictures, your saved texts, and sometimes even your settings, GONE. To top it all off this phone as with all windows phones DOES NOT support freely swapping micro SD cards between devices, and even ruins any micro SD card you put into it. Ie, you CANNOT put a micro SD card into this device and ever use it again for anything outside of this phone. Also anytime you add or remove a micro SD card you have to do a hard reset to the phone, thus deleting everything on it, and resetting all the settings to their factory defaults.
While I love what Samsung usually does, and how Microsoft operates with their computers, I find it almost impossible to find a single feature of this phone that is not garbage. My recommendation is if you get this phone to use it as a paperweight as that is all it is good for.

Actually it's a Great phone - but for what WE (people who need Web acess - AND RINGTONES (lol) -

The battery takes forever to charge. The games and apps are all X-Box based. There is no Facebook interaction, just reading and updates. The apps have a tendancy to lock up to stop working. I honestly wish I could take it back and exchange it for an upgraded iPhone which is sad since I traded an iPhone for this Focus. The voice actions doesn't even recognize something as simple as "hospital". I also can not upload photos to Facebook which is a big negative for me. I used to be able to play games with friends on my iPhone but have no access to any games that are not Xbox licensed.

No life or phone functioning

I am very disappointed with the battery life. It will remain charged for about 4-5 hours with most of the time in my pocket. The keyboard is not user friendly to someone who has disabilities. The phone screen won't work in horizontal position. In the horizontal position, the screen goes blank so I can't mute, access speaker phone, or pull down the numerical keypad.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, battery life
