Great product

I would not have purchased a refurbished unless directly from Sennheiser. I am not disappointed. It was obvious the instructions and power cord had been used, but as for the headphones these seemed brand new (plastic and all). Difference in price well worth it (but 1 year warranty instead of 2).
As for the quality of the product, for my use these are way better than my old rs 160 (and I still love them). They fit tighter (needed a couple of days to get use to this), hence less leakage, almost like noise cancelling. The only down side to this (and It took me some time to figure it out), sometimes I use these headphones with quasi perfect sound for hours and other times (could be same moment of the day/same place), I get many micro-cuts. At first I thought these were interferences from other signals wifi etc (rs is sensible to other signals). But after extensive tests I came to the conclusion that my signal and or 6 year old cable box are responsible. Any imperfection in the signal will be heard with these headphones. As they say: garbage in, garbage out.
To conclude, you will better appreciate these headphones if your use is limited to the transmitter area, as depending on your house configuration the reach of the signal is variable. Also, give yourself some time to get use to the volume bottons as they are to close to the bass and surround bottons (easily press the wrong one). For my needs the bass is more than sufficient, as for the surround I don't really hear the surround effect.
These headphones are not perfect (which ones are?), but overall I am very satisfied with the product.

These are amazing headphones. Truly a configurable, from headset, excellent quality delightful sound. Can you buy better? Probably but can the human ear detect the difference? I doubt it.
I highly recommend these. Remember the saying: quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. Treat yourself, youll be smilng for years...

RS175 Headphones

I had my first set just short of a year. Problem seems to be that the materials used for the ear covers is of poor quality as they wear out fairly quickly. Then start to come apart. Maybe a better quality of material would work better.
Also maybe you should keep in stock the replacement covers that are available for these headphones.

GREAT SOUND!!!!!! Few problems though

First of all, the sound is GREAT!!! Nothing even close out there. Very clear highs and plenty of bass.
Few drawbacks:
The sound is cut in and out every few minutes. Not that much, but definitely noticeable.
Another problem: They advertise it as a surround sound system. That’s different from what I thought. I thought surround means left, right, center, back etc’. Not even close. What they meant is that the system increases the surround noise. (The noise around the scene, like street noise, etc’). So if you are looking for dolby-not for you. And lastly, not even close to a 100 meter range. Not even 20 meter. May be 10-12 on straight line without any obstacles. When I am about 6-7 meters from the TV and open the fridge door-sound dropped.
Another small thing, You can NOT reduce bass analog, there’s a button for the extra bass. When the button is pressed-too much base. Too much! When not-not enough.
But they do sound GREAT!!!!

I'm finally able to use the optical cable for sound with this purchase. The sound quality is amazing and I really like the Base boost. I also have two sets of headphones which pair seamlessly.
Also glad to have saved some money while these were on sale.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This headset works just great. Able to listen to TV without affecting anyone else in the room. Separate volume control and the ability to mute the TV audio makes listening to programs possible after everyone has gone to bed without disturbing them.
