this is a great multi-tasker for me. it prints fast and does all its supposed to do. it is quiet and the ink cartridges are easy to install/change. set up was a breeze and the wireless capability is great too.
First wireless machine I've owned. Fast and easy setup. This machine even tells me ahead of time when to replace ink! This may very well be the best machine I've ever owned. If you haven't tried an Epson lately, you better give this one a try. Great machine for the money.
My old size of a small car multifunction had just run out of its multi colored blood and the day's work was far from done. To the dealer instantly I went and explained that I needed the many ink cartridges that my old $$$ "dinosaurous printer" required. He said was out of stock! I said; But I need to get this rush job done. He said; Buy this 545 EPSON price line unit on sale for what your other ink refills will cost. I did; it set up so smoothly and instantly and at 5:45 the job was done by my new "545 EPSON" perfectly with much better quality than my big buck ink gobbeling 3 year old other brand over sized dinosaur.
I have had only Epson printers for at least 15 years and my only peeve with this printer is the way the paper is loaded. I do not like the bottom loading even though the capacity is larger than other printers. I find it inconvenient to fold up the paper holder then pull out a drawer to load paper when all I had to do with previous printers is drop in the paper. Otherwise, the printer is great.
First printer with remote print function. Great for use with iPad. Copier function has been very handy as well. With a bit of work on the operator, the scan function has likewise been a good experience and has been helpful on a large project.
I have used Epson WorkForce 545 printer for about 6 months. It printed fast; easy to hook up thru LAN; easy to scan and fax document; Ink last for a long time while it is not too expensive. I made a great decision to purchase this printer!
I've had no problems with this printer. The FAX and scan features work well and the print quality is quite good. Both Wireless and Wired connections are simple to set up and work well with Windows 7.
The only CONS I've run across so far involve the paper tray and front panel controls. The tray is tricky to adjust so the paper stays where it's supposed to be. Once the paper is properly positioned, the tray must be carefully and gently inserted into the printer, otherwise the paper shifts and you have to start over. Once the tray is correctly loaded, the printer works fine.
The front panel controls could be more clear, but the manual will straighten out any confusion there.
Overall, the WorkForce 545 is an excellent printer.
I've always had good experience with my old Epson printer, even using remanufactured ink, so when I went wireless that's where I turned. It worked great until the ink needed replacement, and I used a remanufactured cartridge made for that model; it clogged up and could not be fixed by any number of head cleanings, even followed by using an Epson cartridge. I had to replace the stupid thing and intend to send it back.
