EPSON Workforce 545 All-in-One Printer

This printer has delivered in every way that the reviews about said it would. Its print quality is great, responds quickly to air print queue, copy quality is excellent, and doesn't take up a lot of room on my desktop.

Great printer, One Flaw

This printer is the best I've owned. It does, however, have one flaw and that it the scan program "Epson Scan" which is supposed to operate from the Desktop. No matter what I have tried, including all Epson troubleshooting, etc., I cannot get this to work. The printer does, however, scan remotely if I use the Epson Print app on my iPad. So, maybe it is a Win 8 flaw, I'm not sure.

Dependable & versatile printing

My workforce 545 multifunction printer is the 5th. Printer that I have owned all but 1 of them have been Epson's. I am well satisfied with it and the ability to function wirelessly through out my home, even outside on my patio! It was not very expensive but well worth every dollar spent! I use only Epson ink high capacity cartridges! I always look for sales so that I can stock up!

A well built versatile printer with quality output

This printer, unlike many other brands, is rugged, and well built. The plastic used is high quality and of significant thickness to resist cracking or breaking. It is easy to set up and use and when the occasional paper jam occurs, it is very easy to clear. I particularly like the cartridges that provide additional ink allowing for more printing before cartridge replacement is required. In addition, since multiple color cartridges are used you need only replace the color that is depleted. The print quality, including color photographs, is excellent and reproduces colors accurately.
The only thing I would improve is envelope printing which, at present, requires the removal of all paper in the tray, adjustment of the tray to the envelope size and readjusting the tray back to standard paper sizes.

Love my epsons

I have been using Epsons for years, had the WF 610 before the 545. I am a tax preparer and use it heavily and it stands up to the constant use. At the end of its life, usually about 3 years, the paper jams seem to increase but I have very few problems with it. Ink is easy to install, separate cartridges, and it handles the knock off inks very well. Overall, I am a dedicated Epson fan. Oh, also they are priced very reasonably.

Good but...

I have a MacBook Pro and tried to use another printer that I could not get to work at all so switched to the Epson. Works well except that every few lines the print comes out a little "compressed". I have tried to figure out the problem but so far have not had success. It is not line number consistent in that so many lines print OK then a "GLITCH" line 15 lines later. It does seem to appear with the Times New Roman font. I am using Parallels 7 with Windows 7 and Office 2007 so I am not sure if there is some compatibility issue I of which I am not aware. Graphics and everything else seems to print out as desired.

The Epson Workforce 545 All-in-One printer has been the best all-in-one printer I have used. The scanning and copying are easy to use and work very well. Printing pictures and documents from my tablet and phone is also very easy. The print quality is excellent and I especially like the low ink reminders. The Epson Workforce 545 makes good use of the ink without being wasteful.

I bought this as I need a new printer. I need a sturdy one as I have kids who need to print reports and things. Also wanted a printer with a card reader as I'm a photographer.
