Great printer, fax, scanner, etc etc. I've had other brands but this Epson printer is more than you could ask for the low price. It is like the Ever Ready Bunny! I love this device and easy to set up and operate.
From other reviews I knew paper jamming could be an issue so I put in a felt strip ( the kind you buy to put under furniture so it doesn't scratch your floor,) on each side of the tray to "snug up" the paper giving it less room to wiggle on its way into the feed. 100% effective. Only ongoing issue is that the scan function fails to work from the printer; I can scan through the app on my computer. An annoying issue and I can't seem to resolve it.
The paper tray is hard to load and align, difficult to insert, and frequently pulls two pages into the printer at the same time. The feed mechanism and paper tray design really needs re-engineering. I've been using Epson printers for a long time and have never had problems like this before. Maybe it's time for me to switch brands.
This is a good printer, I have enjoyed the quality and ease with which I was able to set it up to print wirelessly. Print well and interacts well with all of my software.
The one negative thing that I would say is that the sensors on the ink control everything and you cannot sidestep them. So, the cartridge may have enough to finish the job, but I would not know because the printer simply stops printing. I realize that Epson is probably trying to help with maintaining quality printing, but I wish I could decide when the ink was completely empty.
The Epson 545 is one of the best printers for the price that I have ever owned. It does everything that was promised and it works great, Epson has made me a new believer!
1. The functions are all buttons with actual words in English next to them describing what they do. This is far better than a touch screen menu that is difficult to navigate.
2. The ink usage is far more conservative than other printers I've owned. Saves tons of $ and time.
