This review is coming from a NOVICE, not a geek, and therein lies the problem. It has taken me several hours to make it through the basic set up using USB. The disk didn't work in my 8 year old XP, and that created another problem and I had to download from your website. Finally, I still haven't figured out how to make my ipad print. The problem I have with most computer oriented companies is that they have no mercy on those of us "old" guys who love our computers, but at the same time hate them because the companies seem to think that everyone is gifted and already knows everything about their product and how to manipulate them.....when many of us don't. I just wish that your instructions were a little more "old user" friendly. Sooner or later us old guys will be dead and everyone will know what they're doing. Shoot, my 7 year old grand daughter probably could have helped me if she didn't live so far away. Thank you for allowing me to spout off.

Epson Pride... 7 years (old) ... 1 day (new)

I have been a faithfull Epson User for the Last 7 years. I fell in love with Epson when my last printer got ruined by the ink spilling all over the inside. The main feature that I liked so well from the beginning was the 4 different ink cart. The on touch copying and scanning feature fast became a family favorite. So when the Epson CXR 4800 died this week, I knew that I would check out all the printeres out there. Still found myself right back with my Epson. I am looking forward to using the new Epson 545. The only problem that I have with this new one is that they did not include a USB cord with the new printer. But that I can live with.

easiest set up

Purchased this over the 730, for the fact it also had fax capabilities. Probably the easiest thing I've yet to set up and add to computer. Rather large, but for all it does, it's expected. Photo printing works rather well, and all functions are easy to access and use. So far so good. Did hook up with usb cord, but will probably change it to wireless down the road.

I only want to avoid lying on the forms submitted to authorize downloading updates to software from Epson or third party contractors. I did not receive the Epson WorkForce 545 printer through purchase. This printer was given to me as a gift. One of the fields requesting where I purchased the computer is a required field to authorize updates. I did not purchase the printer. There appears no available field on the form to declare that. I do not know where, or under what circumstances, the person who purchased the gift obtained it, and I'm not about to question where they obtained it!!! I trust them and know they would not have obtained it illegally!!!!!

Great All-in-one Printer

I had owned an Epson dot matrix printer in the 1980's and early 1990's and had been very satisfied with it. When my 7 year old printer experienced problems, I decided to replace it with an Epson Workforce printer. I bought the Workforce 545 after extensive comparative research on the internet. I have been very happy with its quality and performance primarily as a printer, but also as a copier and scanner. I have not yet used the Fax feature. The only critical thing I could say at this point is that the paper tray seems a bit flimsy, but it has given me no problems.

New 545 replaces HP all in one. More effort getting it un-boxed than operational. Using MacAir/Lyon on local net with second computer using Snow Leapord. Downloaded Epson software without any bumps to wiFi connect. Then checked for update via Apple system preferences. Very happy with quality/choice.
