Great Machine

Workforce 845 has been a great machine. Easy to install and operate. My concern with any printer is the ink usage. Epson Workforce 845 use less ink than most other printers. The scanner is also very helpful. I do large amount of photo scanning and the dpi is very good. I would recommend this printer to who ever would ask.

Good Buy

i have had this printer since 2012 and it has worked well for me. But I now have a problem and I can't find the support that I need. When I open the top to put in a new cartridge, the cartridge holder does not move to the center so that I can change it. Any ideas?

Epson WF845

I like the WF845. However, I am on my second one. Just before the warranty expired, the printer died. Epson was generally reasonable about replacing it with a new one, although it took some time and being without a printer was not terribly convenient. With that said, I have very few problems with this printer and documents always come out looking just fine. I guess one more small gripe is the short length of time between replacing ink cartridges and the associated cost of same. Some printers I have had were worse, some were better.

Epson WorkForce 845 All-in-One Printer

I am very disappointed in my current Epson printer. My previous model was much more to my liking. This printer seems to use ink rapidly, the prints of photos are always off color and sometimes have lines through. The printed copies of documents are sometimes wavy. I have followed all the suggestions to correct the problems but nothing has fixed the problem

Epson Workforce 845

I have never been a fan of "all-in-one" devices of any sort. As a longtime-geek whose job also lies in the technical area, I tend to do a lot of research on any product I buy (i.e. processors, motherboards, routers (consumer- and enterprise-grade) and even surge protectors. That being said...
I do not normally write reviews but when the email arrived asking me to rate this product, I could not pass up the opportunity!
The print quality is great and VERY fast! Even on the lower "draft" settings, then density of the print is excellent. I have seen other printers on "draft" settings have places in letters where the ink is simply missing and/or the print is not of even density. This printer does not exhibit that problem.
I use the duplex printing feature for drafts quite often. Remembering exactly which way to put the paper in after you've printed half a job is not the way to print on both sides of the paper. The feeder (ADF) has never failed or jammed. IF it jammed, the ease at which you can access the path of the paper would make clearing such a problem an easy task.
The scanner is excellent and the software provides features for both beginners and experts. I use "beginner" settings when I just want to scan something and don't need to do anything fancy with it. I'll choose expert when I need to tweak something in one way or another.
I've only used the (free version with some features limited) "Abby" optical-character-recognition software a few times. It was more than adequate for my needs. Nonetheless, please don't ever judge technology by the "extras" they throw in (i.e. software).
I've only used the bottom tray and have had problems here and there attempting to print with the upper tray as a source. The printer always seems to want to default to the bottom tray. I would generally keep envelopes in the upper tray, but I recall having to print them from the bottom tray. You'd think switching paper source was an easy task, but (without recalling specifics) I had problems with the upper tray as a source. Perhaps this is my shortcoming in my infrequent need for the upper tray coupled with an impatient attitude I can get when I GENERALLY know exactly how to do something but it's not working correctly. I wouldn't "mark off" for this.
The ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) has never jammed (as I've already mentioned). Sometimes the scanned image doesn't come out perfectly straight. I believe I would prefer a slower speed on the ADF with more precise document placement on the platter. Manually placing a document, of course, alleviates this problem.
Regarding the "negatives" I mentioned above, please keep in mind that I am "in the field" and do a lot of research. All of the features of the printer are excellent; the color printing, the VERY fast speed in all modes (compared to other models), the way you can customize what certain buttons and actions do, etc. Anything I would say about this printer would be positive. The things above were worth mentioning, however.
It is everything I expected and more. Nothing is ever perfect, however, and I felt it necessary to point out the very-slight imperfections. I wouldn't trade this printer for any I've seen in the past few years.
* I have not tested the fax features or capability
Sincerely,
Keith S.

Excellent Printer - Pricey Ink

I cannot find fault with this printer/scanner. It does everything I need and does it with minimum upkeep or maintenance.
The ink is pricey however, so that is a drawback but the performance of the printer is wonderful.

The machine doesn't handshake long enough before hanging up and I can't find a way to change it. If the receiving machine doesn't answer immediately, it hangs up and says "no answer".
