epson 845---stopped feeding paper to print head after 14 months. problem was failed plastic drive gear buried deep within. not worth the expense of fixing so ---- into the trash!

IT WAS A GREAT PRINTER, DID EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE UNTIL SCANNING FEATURE FAILED!!! LEFT BLACK LINES DOWN MIDDLE OF PAGE IN TWO AREAS!! HAVE REPLACED IT WITH THE WF-3540, HOPE IT LASTS LONGER, STILL BELIEVE IN EPSON.

I love this printer. It's fast, its not terribly loud and it doesn't take up a great deal of desk space. Scan's cleanly and easily. Ink is mildly expensive but last longish. Printed over 800 pages before I had to switch new ink in. Ran out of in staggered first black then magenta then yellow then cyan. Rather strange but not a big deal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Great Printer

I bought this printer after reading all of the reviews from Amazon. Unfortunately, I found that there was a problem that prevented the printer to properly operate. I want to say that the customer service in the quick replacement of the printer was outstanding. Since I received the replacement printer, it operated flawlessly. I am giving it 5 stars due to the quality of the printer and the excellent customer service from Epson.

great printer and scanner. I don't have any sense of speed or cost per page as those are not especially important to me; I don't have large volume. But what is especially nice is to have, in one machine, the capacity to work in black and white and color for print and scan, and to scan with both document feeder and flatbed modes. Setting it up to network wirelessly was easy. The only slight negative is I don't really need two paper trays and it is fairly tall, over a foot, but to use flatbed mode (and, in truth, feeder mode) you need access to the top anyway. I don't have a land line so I don't fax, so can't say. But it's just a nice, versatile product that covers most of my needs with no hassles.
