so far so good

I have used this printer for about 3 weeks and so far am completely satisfied. Installation was easy, both for USB and wireless connections. Print quality is very good except for faded color in fast mode, but the 845 is much more efficient with ink use compared to other brands, so printing with normal quality gives good results at reasonable cost. Scanning is excellent and the document feeder for scanning and copying makes work much easier. The dual, large capacity paper trays are another plus. I have not used it to fax or to copy photos, so can’t comment. I contacted Epson's online support once for a minor question and they responded promptly and knowledgeably. Small minuses are (i) its large footprint, and (ii) noise level is on the high side. But these don’t really bother me at all. As with all machines made largely of plastic, the true test will be that of durability over time, but my impression to this point is the 845 is well designed and built, economical on ink use, and, for low-to-moderate volume home office use, well worth the additional $50-75 compared to other models/brands that do not nearly match its features.

Workforce 845 Setup

Just went throught the set up on the printer. Was very straightforward and I think we are good to go. Did receive a warning message regarding the printer cartridges that disconcerted me for a moment or two, yet I simply reset them a couple of times and selected the OK button and the initialization of the cartridges continued without incident.

It was easy for me to install. It was easy for me to set up the network. I can print at the front of the house. I can print from the back of the house. This was much easier than a fixed location type device.

This is by far the BEST printer I have ever owned. I used to be a snob with a preference for another companies printers, but no more. Thank you Epson. I can print wirelessly, scan, fax, print double-sided, it's perfect.

Only used the printer a few times but very satisfied! I was using an artisan 835 and I do have to say the printing of color pictures are washed out in color. Otherwise very pleased!

I have "gone through so many printers of various well-known brands; but I have to say this is the finest printer I've ever had. There isn't anything it can't do! It has all of the "bells & whistles" for an amazing price.
