Great features for price: touch screen needs work

I use this printer for scanning (excellent), copying (excellent), duplex printing (excellent), faxing (very good), network printing (excellent), photo printing (very good), and general printing (excellent) in addition to my color laser printer.
The multiple memory card reader is a plus.
Setup is easy, including setting it up as a wireless network printer...much easier than my color laser from a different company.
The software would benefit from an option that would always print from tray 2 in the event that tray 1 is empty...if selected by the user, instead of having to set it every time you print.
The touch screen is not as responsive as it should be. On the right hand side of the screen, I often have to press the OK and/or diamond icon multiple times to get a response.
The paper trays are a bit flimsy, but functional.
Printing envelopes and other odd sizes is more work than with other printers with a separate top-feed tray.
Value for the dollar spent is excellent.

It Works Once You get it set up

Not easy to set up. Maybe some printers have easier networks, but I doubt it. I am a computer systems administrator and I tried to set this epson up, initially it worked and then I upgraded to a better router and it didn't work anymore, I did all the things I was supposed to do ( or so I thought). Now, if your printer doesn't set up in your network, set it up straight from the printer instead of through the network or the PC interface. That is how I got it to work. It works nicely now. But the original scanner driver doesn't work with Windows 7 Home Premium. Must update immeadiately. Don't wait, it will hold the hole thing up. It took about 3 hours of troubleshooting . I would say if you get everything right, give yourself an hour to set this machine up with updates and all ( depending on your network and internet connection of course)

Why did I wait!!!!

For the last several years I have "fought" with my various HP printers - the last being the 8500. A stress you do not want on top of running a business. So far the Epson is soooooo much better. Very easy set up. The HP took hours of frustration and the tech support was needed. (Hard to understand when the tech support is out of the country...) Epson was set up within minutes. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!!!???

I am a Senior and thought I was going to have to hire someone to set up my new printer. I did it all with no problems. It was so easy to follow the directions. Thank you.
In fact, I put off setting the printer up for 2 months!!! I had to when my old printer ran out of ink.

EPSON WorkForce 845

My computer is currently set up on a different floor of the house as my new EPSON WorkForce 845 printer. I have used the wireless networking capability for connecting the two and the printer is working wonderfully. I have printed from the computer with no problems.

I personally think this printer produces tremendous value as far as performance and price. I just finished setting it up and it was a breeze except they don't include setting up the wireless functionality in the quick guide. You have to set it up using the printer menu instead of setting it up using your control panel for windows users. Over all I think it's a great product. It's my first multi function printer and I'm satisfied and happy with it. I also bought the brother printer and had to return it after seeing the workforce by epson.
